Abstract
Nanoparticles comprising zinc, methods of manufacturing nanoparticles comprising zinc, and applications of nanoparticles comprising zinc, such as electrically conducting formulations, reagents for fine chemical synthesis, pigments and catalysts are provided.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A nanomaterial composition of matter comprising
zinc; and at least one metal other than zinc wherein the composition of matter has an electrical conductivity greater than 0.0001 mhos.cm.
2 . The nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises aluminum.
3 . The nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 , wherein the electrical conductivity is greater than 0.01 mhos.cm.
4 . The nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 , wherein the nanomaterial comprises particles with an aspect ratio greater than 1.
5 . The nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 , wherein the nanomaterial comprises non-spherical particles.
6 . A coating comprising the nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 .
7 . A transparent conductive layer comprising the nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 .
8 . An electrode comprising the nanomaterial composition of matter of claim 1 .

11 . A method for preparing a composition of matter comprising
providing nanoparticles of a first composition comprising zinc; and reacting the nanoparticles with a reagent wherein the reacting creates a second composition that is different from the first composition.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first composition comprises particles with an aspect ratio greater than 1.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first composition further comprises oxygen.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises nitrogen.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises a halogen.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises an acid or an alkali.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises hydrogen.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises oxygen.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reagent comprises carbon.
