Band with crossover

Abstract

A circularly knitted garment having a body portion and a shaped band. The shaped band is defined in the body portion such that a seamless interface is formed between the body portion and the shaped band. The shaped band has at least one crossover portion.

1 . A circularly knitted garment comprising: 
 a main body portion; and    a shaped band defined in said body portion such that a seamless interface is formed between said body portion and said shaped band, said shaped band having a crossover portion.    
   
   
       2 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein said shaped band further comprises a first portion having a constant height, said crossover portion having a height that varies from said constant height.  
   
   
       3 . The garment of  claim 2 , wherein said crossover portion comprises an inner fold at least partially overlapping an outer fold.  
   
   
       4 . The garment of  claim 3 , wherein each of said inner fold and said outer fold descend in height from said constant height to said seamless interface.  
   
   
       5 . The garment of  claim 3 , wherein said inner and outer folds are connected to one another along a border.  
   
   
       6 . The garment of  claim 5 , wherein said border is connected to said seamless interface.  
   
   
       7 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein said crossover portion is a plurality of crossover portions.  
   
   
       8 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the circularly knitted garment is selected from the group consisting of a panty, a brassiere, a pair of pantyhose, a pair of stockings, a blouse, a leotard, a swimsuit, a pair of underwear, and a constrictive brace.  
   
   
       9 . A tubular garment blank for use as a garment, comprising: 
 a main body portion; and    a shaped band defined in said main body portion so that a seamless interface is formed between said main body portion and said shaped band, said shaped band having a first portion having a constant height and a crossover portion having a varying height.    
   
   
       10 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 9 , wherein said crossover portion comprises an inner fold at least partially overlapping an outer fold.  
   
   
       11 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 10 , wherein each of said inner fold and said outer fold descend in height from said first portion to said seamless interface.  
   
   
       12 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 15 , wherein said outer and inner folds are connected to one another along a border.  
   
   
       13 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 12 , wherein said border is connected to said seamless interface.  
   
   
       14 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 9 , wherein said crossover portion is a plurality of crossover portions.  
   
   
       15 . The tubular garment blank of  claim 9 , wherein the garment is selected from the group consisting of a panty, a brassiere, a pair of pantyhose, a pair of stockings, a blouse, a leotard, a swimsuit, a pair of underwear, and a constrictive brace.  
   
   
       16 . A circularly knitted panty comprising: 
 a main body portion having a circumference;    a shaped band seamlessly knit to said main body portion along said circumference;    a first fold defined in said shaped band, said first fold having a first varied height along said circumference; and    a second fold defined in said shaped band, said second fold having a second varied height along said circumference, said first and second folds crossing one another so that said first and second varied heights define a point of overlap.    
   
   
       17 . The circularly knitted panty of  claim 16 , wherein said first and second folds are seamlessly knit to one another along a border.  
   
   
       18 . The circularly knitted panty of  claim 17 , wherein said border is seamlessly knit to said main body portion.
