Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for cutting a continuous strip of sheet metal, comprising the step of feeding out a continuous strip of sheet metal, cutting the continuous strip into sections of finite lengths, wherein the cutting step further comprises cutting the continuous strip into sections of finite lengths having wave shaped edge portions. The invention also relates to such a finite length section.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Method of cutting a continuous strip of sheet metal, comprising the step of:
feeding out a continuous strip of sheet metal, cutting the continuous strip into sections of finite lengths, wherein the cutting step further comprises: cutting the continuous strip into sections of finite lengths having wave shaped edge portions.
2 . Method according to claim 1 , wherein the cutting step is followed by the step of:
firmly holding the wave shaped edge portions in a subsequent sheet metal section machining operation.
3 . A finite length section of sheet metal fed out and cut from a continuous strip, the section comprising first edge portions which are parallel with the feeding direction of the coiled strip, and second edge portions which are transverse the feeding direction of the coiled strip, wherein the second edge portions are wave shaped.
4 . Finite length section according to claim 3 , wherein the wave shape is coplanar with the plane of the section.
5 . Finite length section according to claim 3 , wherein the wave shaped edge portions consist of a plurality of mutually spaced notches.
6 . Finite length section according to claim 5 , wherein the notches have a height in the feeding direction in the interval 10-50 mm.
7 . Finite length section according to claim 3 , wherein the wave shape is sinusoidal.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
