Abstract

The plate comprises a body ( 2 ) provided with securement holes ( 3 ) of the plate ( 1 ) to the sole of a shoe, and a first rear connection member ( 10 ) and a second front connection member ( 11 ). The first and second connection members have bearing surfaces ( 12 to 17 ) adapted to coact with a rear pivoting hooking member respectively with a front fixed hooking member provided on the pedal. All the bearing surfaces ( 12 to 15 ) of at least the first rear connecting member ( 10 ) are formed on an added member ( 18 ) of a material having a coefficient of friction reduced relative to that of the material of the body ( 2 ).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Rapid connection plate of a cyclist's shoe on a cycle pedal, comprising a body ( 2 ) provided with securement holes ( 3 ) for the plate ( 1 ) to the sole of the shoe, and a first rear connection member ( 10 ) and a second front connection member ( 11 ), said first and second connection members having bearing surfaces ( 12 to 17 ) adapted to coact with a pivoting rear hooking member respectively with a fixed front hooking member provided on the pedal, characterized by the fact that substantially all of said bearing surfaces ( 12 to 15 ) of at least said first rear connection member ( 10 ) are formed on an added member ( 18 ) of a material having a coefficient of friction reduced relative to that of the material of said body ( 2 ).

2 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 1 , characterized by the fact that substantially all the bearing surfaces ( 16 , 17 ) of said second front connection member ( 11 ) are also formed on an added member ( 23 ) of a material having a reduced coefficient of friction.

       3 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 1 or 2 , characterized by the fact that each member ( 18 , 23 ) is in the form of a molded piece ( 19 to 22 , 24 to 25 ) fixed on said connection member ( 10 , 11 ).

4 . Rapid connection plate according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said member ( 18 , 23 ) is point-wise fixed on said connecting member by anchoring pins ( 27 ) made of the same material as said member ( 18 , 23 ) and extending into holes ( 26 ) provided in said body ( 2 ).

5 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 4 , characterized by the fact that said holes ( 26 ) are shouldered holes forming a cavity for an anchoring head ( 28 ) on said anchoring pins ( 27 ).

6 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 4 or 5 , characterized by the fact that said holes ( 26 ) are through-holes in which said anchoring pins ( 27 ) extend over only a portion of the height of the holes to stop short of the lower surface of the plate in a manner to form indicators of wear of this latter.

7 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 6 , characterized by the fact that the materials of said bodies ( 2 ) respectively of said member ( 18 , 23 ) are of different colors permitting easily distinguishing said wear indicators formed by said pins ( 27 ).

8 . Rapid connection plate according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said member ( 18 , 23 ) is obtained by overmolding on said body ( 2 ).

9 . Rapid connection plate according to any one of claims 1 to 8 , characterized by the fact that the member ( 18 ) on said first connecting member ( 10 ) comprises a horizontal element ( 19 ) extending over practically all the width of the plate ( 1 ), a central vertical convex element ( 20 ), and two lateral vertical inclined elements ( 21 , 22 ) disposed at the ends of the horizontal element ( 19 ).

10 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 9 , characterized by the fact that said horizontal element ( 19 ), said central element ( 20 ), and said two vertical elements ( 21 , 22 ) are of a single piece obtained by injection molding and fixed on the surface of the first connecting member ( 10 ).

11 . Rapid connection plate according to claim 9 or 10 , characterized by the fact that said central element ( 20 ) of the member ( 18 ) on said first connection member ( 10 ) extends into a central opening ( 29 ) provided at the rear end of said body ( 2 ) and opening into a cavity ( 30 ) of the latter receiving material of the member ( 18 ) so as to block the latter on the body ( 2 ).
