Abstract
A surface cleaning apparatus comprising a cleaning body and collection compartment for accumulating debris retrieved from a surface to be cleaned. The collection compartment is located in a front portion of the cleaning apparatus. A handle is pivotably connected to a rear portion of the cleaning body of the surface cleaning apparatus opposite the first end portion. A rotatable elongate brush arrangement is provided between the collection compartment and the rear portion. A motor for rotating the brush arrangement is provided between the brush arrangement and the rear portion of the cleaning body.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A surface cleaning apparatus comprising:
a cleaning body; collection means for accumulating debris retrieved from a surface to be cleaned, the collection means being provided solely at a first end portion of the cleaning body of the surface cleaning apparatus; a handle means connected by pivot means to a second end portion of the cleaning body of the surface cleaning apparatus opposite the first end portion, the pivot means being arranged to permit the first end portion of the cleaning body of the surface cleaning apparatus to pivot relative to the handle means from a first orientation to a second, depending orientation; a rotatable elongate brush arrangement adapted to retrieve the debris from the surface to be cleaned and to direct the debris into the collection means, the rotatable elongate brush arrangement being provided between the collection means and the second end portion; and a motor arranged to rotate the brush arrangement, the motor being provided substantially between the brush arrangement and the second end portion of the cleaning body.
2 - 32 . (canceled)
33 . A surface cleaning apparatus, comprising:
a body having a first end and a second end located opposite the first end; a collection compartment located adjacent to the first end; a handle pivotably connected to the second end; an elongate, rotatable brush located between the collection compartment and the second end; and a motor for rotating the elongate, rotatable brush located between the brush and the second end.
34 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the first end of the body is the front end of the body.
35 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 34 , wherein the body comprises a bottom wall having a channel.
36 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 35 , wherein the channel is V-shaped.
37 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 35 , wherein the channel extends from the front end of the body toward the elongate brush.
38 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 34 , wherein the elongate rotatable brush resides in an intermediate compartment defined by a top surface of the body, a rear wall separating the motor from the brush, and a front wall separating the brush from the collection compartment.
39 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 38 , wherein at least one surface selected from the top surface of the body and the rear wall is baffled to convey debris around the brush arrangement and into the collection compartment.
40 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein all collection compartments are located adjacent to the first end.
41 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the handle is pivotably mounted to the body about a pivot axis that is transverse to the axial direction of the handle.
42 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the handle can pivot through an angle of at least 95 degrees.
43 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the handle is further connected to the body to swivel, the swivel axis corresponding to the axial direction of the handle.
44 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , further comprising one or more batteries located in a compartment adjacent to the second end for powering the motor.
45 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 44 , wherein the batteries are located in the same compartment as the motor.
46 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the collection compartment is removable from the body.
47 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the body comprises a removable wall to facilitate removal of debris from the collection compartment.
48 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the handle comprises at least two parts.
49 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 48 , wherein the at least two handle parts are configured to allow the length of the handle to be varied.
50 . A surface cleaning apparatus, comprising:
a body having a front portion and a rear portion; a collection compartment located in the front portion; a handle pivotably connected to the rear portion; an elongate, rotatable brush located between the collection compartment and the rear portion; and a motor, located in the rear portion, for rotating the elongate, rotatable brush.Cited by (0)
