Abstract

A movie-trivia based game is disclosed utilizing quotes from famous Hollywood movies. A gameboard depicts a map of the United States. A simulated strip of film is placed over the map having individual frames. The filmstrip zigzags throughout the United States, with the reel of film beginning in Maine and the end of the filmstrip being located over Hollywood, Calif. A team captain reads a movie quote from a first set of cards to his team. The team advances its play piece by moving a frame at a time after answering questions concerning the name of the movie in which the quote was uttered, the actor or actress who said it, the character the actor or actress played in the movie, and the release date of the movie. A team's piece may be advanced or sent backward when it lands on a frame marked with a star signifying the drawing of a second set of cards. The second set of cards will direct that the player move his piece to the frame on which an actor or actress's birthplace is located or to move in another manner. The game is won when a team reaches the Hollywood frame and correctly answers all four questions concerning a movie quote. Players or teams alternate turns in drawing quote cards. Players or teams are also allowed to attempt to answer another team's quote card if the first player or team fails to correctly identify the movie.
