Abstract

A packaging system and method for packaging together two sets of chalk having differing diameters. A first container is provided that has side walls and an open top. The first container is sized to receive a first plurality of chalk of a thick diameter. A second container is provided that is sized to receive a second plurality of chalk that has a thin diameter. A pocket structure is formed in a side wall of the first container. The pocket structure is sized to selectively receive and retain the second container. As such, both sets of chalk are individually housed, yet are joined together in a common packaging configuration.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An assembly, comprising:
a first plurality of chalk of a first diameter; a second plurality of chalk of a second diameter, that is less than said first diameter; a first container having side walls and an open top, wherein said first container is sized to receive said first plurality of chalk therein; a second container sized to receive said second plurality of chalk therein; a pocket structure extending from one of said side walls of said first container, wherein said pocket structure is sized to selectively receive and retain said second container therein.

2 . The assembly according to claim 1 , further including a lid for selectively covering said open top of said first container.

3 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said lid is transparent so that said first plurality of chalk can be viewed in said first container through said lid.

4 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said lid extends over at least part of said pocket structure and prevents said second container from being removed from said pocket structure.

5 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said second container is transparent, in at least part, so that said second plurality of chalk is visible from within said second container.

6 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said second container has a peripheral edge, and said pocket structure includes a rail that engages said second container in an area immediately proximate said peripheral edge.

7 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said pocket structure includes a rail element that extends outwardly from one of said side walls of said first container, wherein said rail element has a lip that lay parallel to the side wall, wherein said second container fits between said side wall and said lip.

8 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said second container has a transparent lid, wherein most of said transparent lid is directly visible when said second container is in said pocket structure.

9 . The assembly according to claim 1 , further including a handle coupled to said first container for lifting said first container.

10 . A method of packaging two sets of chalk of different diameters, said method including the steps of:
providing a first container sized to receive a first set of said two sets of chalk, wherein said first container has a side wall and a pocket structure that extends outwardly from said side wall; providing a second container sized to receive a second set of said two sets of chalk; placing said first set of chalk in said first container; placing said second set of chalk in said second container; and placing said second container in said pocket structure of said first container.

11 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein said first container has a transparent section that enables said first set of said two sets of chalk to be viewed when in said first container.

12 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein said second container has a transparent section that enables said second set of said two sets of chalk to be viewed when in said second container.

13 . The method according to claim 12 , wherein said transparent section of said second container is visible when said second container is positioned within said pocket structure of said first container.

14 . The method according to claim 10 , further including the step of placing a lid over said first container, wherein said lid overlaps said pocket structure and prevents said second container from being removed from said first container.
