Abstract
A tooth whitening substance formed into a thin layer is provided. The tooth whitening substance includes a polyox resin and a tooth whitening active. The polyox resin adheres the thin layer to a plurality of teeth for a sufficient time to allow the tooth whitening active to act upon the plurality of teeth.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
. A method of bleaching a plurality of teeth, the teeth having facial, lingual, and incisal surfaces, comprising:
a) adhesively a tooth bleaching product comprising a flexible polymeric film and a tooth bleaching gel to the facial surfaces of a plarality of teeth, wherein the tooth bleaching gel comprises a tooth bleaching active; b) adhesively attaching the flexible polymeric film to the lingual surfaces of the plurality of teeth; c) conforming the flexible polymeric film to the facial surfaces of the plurality of teeth; d) conforming the flexible polymeric film to the lingual surfaces of the plurality of teeth, wherein the flexible polymeric film is disposed about the incisal surface of the plurality of teeth; e) conforming the flexible polymeric film to interstitial spaces between the plurality of teeth; and f) peeling the flexible polymeric film from the plurality of teeth.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching active is hydrogen peroxide.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises carboxypolymethylene.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises between about 0% and about 40% water by weight of the tooth bleaching gel.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel comprises a flavor.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises glycerin.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible polymeric film has a thickness about 0.0013 mm.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel is continuously coated along a longitudinal axis of the flexible polymeric film.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein flexible polymeric film is provided as a single layer of polymer.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel is homogenous.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel has a viscosity between about 200 and about 1,000,000 cps.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible polymeric film is sized to cover between 7 teeth and an entire row of teeth.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the overall thickness of the tooth bleaching product is less than about 1 mm.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein 1 (a) to 1 (f) are repeated once a day for between about 7 and about 14 days.
. The method of claim 15 , wherein each repetition of 1 (a) to 1 (f) uses a new flexible polymeric film.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel is provided in the form of a stripe along the flexible polymeric film.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible polymeric film is substantially flat prior to use.
. A system for bleaching a plurality of upper teeth, the teeth having facial, lingual, and incisal surfaces, comprising:
a) a plurality of tooth bleaching products, each tooth bleaching product comprising a substrate that receives a tooth whitening gel, wherein the substrate consists essentially of a flexible polymeric film that is sized to cover the facial, lingual, and incisal surfaces of a plurality of teeth, wherein the polymeric film adhesively attaches to the facial and lingual surfaces of the plurality of teeth during use and wherein the polymeric film is conformable to interstitial tooth spaces during use; b) the tooth bleaching gel comprising a tooth bleaching active; and c) wherein the system comprises a sufficient number of the tooth bleaching products to apply a new polymeric film once a day for between about 7 days and about 14 days.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching active is hydrogen peroxide.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises carboxypolymethylene.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises between about 0% and about 40% water by weight of the tooth bleaching gel.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel comprises a flavor.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel further comprises glycerin.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the flexible polymeric film has a thickness about 0.0013 mm.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel is continuously coated along a longitudinal axis of the flexible polymeric film.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel has a viscosity between about 200 and about 1,000,000 cps.
. The system of claim 18 , wherein the tooth bleaching gel is provided in the form of a stripe along the flexible polymeric film.Cited by (0)
