Abstract

The invention provides human proteases (PRTS) and polynucleotides which identify and encode PRTS. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, antibodies, agonists, and antagonists. The invention also provides methods for diagnosing, treating, or preventing disorders associated with aberrant expression of PRTS.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 89 . (canceled)

90 . An isolated polynucleotide encoding (i) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 1-17, (b) a biologically active fragment of a polypeptide that comprises the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 1-17, wherein the fragment has cysteine protease activity, (c) an immunogenic fragment of a polypeptide that comprises the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 1-17, or (d) a polypeptide that has at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 1-17 and has cysteine protease activity.

91 . The isolated polynucleotide of claim 90 , wherein the isolated polynucleotide comprises the nucleic acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 18-34.

92 . A recombinant polynucleotide comprising a promoter sequence operably linked to a polynucleotide of claim 90 .

         93 . A cell transformed with a recombinant polynucleotide of claim 92 .

94 . A method of producing the polypeptide of claim 90 comprising: a) culturing a cell, which has been transformed with a recombinant polynucleotide that comprises a promoter operably linked to a polynucleotide of claim 90 , under conditions suitable for expression of the polypeptide, and b) recovering the expressed polypeptide.

95 . The method of claim 94 , wherein the polypeptide comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO. 1-17.

96 . An isolated polynucleotide selected from the group consisting of: a) a polynucleotide comprising the nucleic acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 18-34, b) a polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid sequence that has at least 95% sequence identity to the nucleic acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO. 18-34, wherein the polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide that has cysteine protease activity, c) a polynucleotide complementary to a polynucleotide of a), d) a polynucleotide complementary to a polynucleotide of b), and e) an RNA equivalent of a)-d).
