Abstract
The present invention is a method and apparatus to develop motor skills-based tutorial and interactive instruction. It is well-suited as an aid to instructors, trainers, coaches and officials (collectively “instructors”), at all levels of expertise in both sport and non-sport activities. The invention provides the means to develop relatively economical training simulations (“pre-training”). Instructors develop instructor-controllable image movements to demonstrate pre-training lessons to users.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An apparatus for simulated training for at least one instructor to develop at least one pre-training lesson comprising:
a processing system having at least one instructor-controllable image for performing interactive, personal and idiosyncratic simulated movements; a memory for storing said instructor-controllable image controlled by said instructor to perform a sequence of said simulated movements; a display for displaying said instructor-controllable image for performing said simulated movements; an input for receiving input signals from said instructor to control said instructor-controllable image for performing said simulated movements; and an output for sending output signals related to said instructor-controllable image movements from said memory to said display; wherein said instructor-controllable image is generated to make said simulated movements controlled by said input signals from said instructor without requiring said instructor to make corresponding physical movements; and a record of said instructor-controllable image movements is recorded in said memory such that said record is modified to represent said simulated movements as controlled by said input signals from said input.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a composite record of said instructor-controllable image movements is assembled from at least one record of said instructor-controllable image movements.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein multiple composite records of said instructor-controllable image movements are assembled into at least one skill category.
4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein multiple said skill categories are assembled into at least one general category.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said instructor-controllable image movements are developed by the instructor using at least one multi-media source.
6 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein said composite record of said instructor-controllable image movements is used to demonstrate at least one pre-training lesson to at least one user.
7 . A method for simulated training for at least one instructor to develop at least one pre-training lesson comprising:
a processing means having at least one instructor-controllable image for performing interactive, personal and idiosyncratic simulated movements; a memory means for storing said instructor-controllable image controlled by said instructor to perform a sequence of said simulated movements; a display means for displaying said instructor-controllable image for performing said simulated movements; an input means for receiving input signals from said instructor to control said instructor-controllable image for performing said simulated movements; and an output means for sending output signals related to said instructor-controllable image movements from said memory to said display; wherein said instructor-controllable image is generated to make said simulated movements controlled by said input signals from said instructor without requiring said instructor to make corresponding physical movements; and a record of said instructor-controllable image movements is recorded in said memory such that said record is modified to represent said simulated movements as controlled by said input signals from said input.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein a composite record of said instructor-controllable image movements is assembled from at least one record of said instructor-controllable image movements.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein multiple composite records of said instructor-controllable image movements are assembled into at least one skill category.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein multiple said skill categories are assembled into at least one general category.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein said instructor-controllable image is developed by the instructor using at least one multi-media source.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein said composite record of said instructor-controllable image movements is used to demonstrate at least one pre-training lesson to at least one user.Cited by (0)
