Abstract
A foldform label laminate includes a web having first and second bands laminated together along a longitudinal running axis by complementary patterns of release and adhesive disposed therebetween. The patterns of release and adhesive repeat along the running axis to define a series of repeating laminated sheets. The second band has a corresponding label disposed in each of the sheets. Each of the labels is removable from atop the first band, with the adhesive remaining on the label, and the release remaining on the first band.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A label laminate comprising:
a web including first and second bands adjoining along a fold line extending longitudinally along a running axis, with said web and bands thereof having a front side and an opposite back side; a pattern of release disposed on said web front side atop said first band; a pattern of adhesive disposed on said web front side atop said second band to complement said release; said front side portions of said first and second bands being bonded together by said adhesive in a laminate, with said back side portions of said bands being exposed on opposite sides of said laminate; and said second band including a removable label therein.
. A laminate according to claim 1 wherein said web further includes a third band extending from said first band in a single-ply therewith, and adjoining said second band in two plies with said first band.
. A laminate according to claim 2 further comprising an integral fold disposed along said fold line joining together said first and second bands along a common edge of said laminate.
. A laminate according to claim 3 further comprising a barrier coating disposed atop said first band and below said release.
. A laminate according to claim 4 further comprising print disposed atop said barrier coating and below said release.
. A laminate according to claim 3 further comprising print disposed on said web outside said release.
. A laminate according to claim 6 further comprising print disposed on both said front and back sides of said web.
. A laminate according to claim 3 wherein release pattern on said first band is continuous, and said adhesive pattern on said second band is continuous.
. A laminate according to claim 3 wherein release pattern on said first band is discontinuous, and said adhesive pattern on said second band is discontinuous and complementary with said discontinuous release pattern.
. A laminate according to claim 3 wherein said release pattern is repetitive along said first band, and said adhesive pattern is repetitive along said second band and complementary with said repetitive release pattern.
. A laminate according to claim 3 further comprising:
said release being disposed in a pattern atop said front side of both said first and second bands; said adhesive being disposed in a pattern atop said front side of both said first and second bands; and said release and adhesive patterns being complementary to each other on said first and second bands symmetrically along said fold line.
. A laminate according to claim 11 wherein said release and adhesive patterns include complementary rectangular patches nested inside each other.
. A laminate according to claim 11 wherein said release and adhesive patterns include complementary alternating stripes.
. A laminate according to claim 11 wherein said release and adhesive patterns include complementary checkerboards.
. A laminate according to claim 3 further comprising said adhesive being disposed atop said front side of both said first and second bands.
. A laminate according to claim 15 wherein said adhesive on both said first and second bands is aligned along said fold line to form a two-ply adhesive laminate thereof.
. A laminate according to claim 3 further comprising said label having a die cut perimeter disposed inside a surrounding matrix in said second band.
. A label laminate comprising:
first and second bands having an identical material composition with common front and back sides; said first band having a pattern of release atop said front side thereof; said second band having a pattern of adhesive atop said front side thereof; said first and second bands being bonded together by said adhesive and release along said front sides thereof to form said laminate, and exposing said back sides thereof on opposite sides of said laminate; and said second band having a removable label therein defined by a die cut perimeter.
. A laminate according to claim 18 further comprising a third band adjoining said first band in a coplanar single-ply therewith, with second band joined atop said first band in a two-ply laminate.
. A laminate according to claim 19 further comprising an integral fold along said fold line joining together said first and second bands along a common edge of said laminate.
. A laminate according to claim 20 further comprising print disposed on said first band under said release.
. A laminate according to claim 20 further comprising print disposed on said front side of said third band and on said back side of said second band laminated atop said first band.
. A laminate according to claim 20 wherein said fold line is embossed.
. A laminate according to claim 20 where said fold includes a line of perforations.
. A laminate according to claim 20 wherein said label bridges said fold and extends on both sides of said first and second bands, with a common die cut perimeter.
. A foldform label laminate comprising:
a web including first and second bands laminated together along a longitudinal running axis by complementary patterns of release and adhesive disposed therebetween; said patterns of release and adhesive repeating along said running axis to define a series of repeating laminated sheets, with said second band having a corresponding label disposed in each of said sheets; and each of said labels being removable from atop said first band, with said adhesive remaining on said label, and said release remaining on said first band.
. A laminate according to claim 26 wherein said first and second bands have identical material composition and configuration in a common single-lot web.
. A laminate according to claim 27 wherein said web includes opposite front and back sides, and said first and second bands are laminated together to expose said web back side on opposite sides of said laminated bands and hide said web front side inside said laminated bands.
. A laminate according to claim 28 wherein said web comprises paper, and said web front side comprises the wire screen side thereof, and said web back side comprises the felt side thereof.
. A laminate according to claim 28 wherein said web further includes a third band extending from said laminated bands in a single-ply being coextensive with said first band.
. A laminate according to claim 28 further comprising a fold integrally joining together said first and second bands along a common outboard edge.
. A laminate according to claim 28 wherein said first and second bands are laminated together along a bond formed by said adhesive and release, and said bond is exposed along a square outboard edge of said laminated bands.
. A laminate according to claim 28 wherein each of said labels is disposed inside a surrounding matrix in said second band.
. A laminate according to claim 28 wherein each of said labels is laminated atop said first band without a surrounding matrix of said second band to expose said release on said first band.
