Cooling device of umbrella
Abstract
A cooling device is integrated with a runner of an umbrella. The umbrella includes an upright central post along which the runner is movable. A crown is mounted to an upper end of the central post. A plurality of ribs is pivoted to and radially extending from the crown and each rib is linked to and driven by a stretcher having opposite ends pivoted to the runner and the rib respectively. A canopy is attached to and supported by the ribs whereby when the runner moves upward/downward along the central post, the canopy is selectively opened/closed. The cooling device includes a casing fit over and movable along the central post. The cooling device defines an interior space forming a water container containing an amount of water and accommodating a mist generator receiving water from the water container and generating mist. Tubes convey the mist to outlet nozzles that are formed in the casing to direct the mist to a space under the canopy for cooling purposes.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A cooling device adapted to be incorporated in an umbrella comprising a central post rotatably supporting a plurality of ribs that carry a canopy, a runner movably along the central post to drive the ribs via a plurality of stretchers for expanding/collapsing the canopy, the cooling device comprising:
a casing fit over and slidable along the central post, the casing having an upper end fixed to the runner; a water container formed inside the casing and in communication with a water inlet defined in the casing for replenishment of water into the container; a mist generator accommodated in the casing and in fluid communication with the water container for receiving water from the water container and converting the water into mist; and a plurality of mist outlets formed in the casing and in communication with the mist generator to receive the mist from the mist generator and ditribute the mist into a space under the canopy; wherein the cooling device is integrated with the runner and is thus movable with the runner in expanding/collapsing the canopy and wherein when the mist generator is in operation, mist is generated and distributed into the space under the canopy for cooling purposes.
2 . The cooling device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the mist generator is electrically driven by power transmitted through a power cord under the control of a switch, the cord extending through an interior channel defined along the central post to a crown mounted to an upper end of the central post, then extends along one of the ribs and the associated rib to the runner and is then connected to the mist generator.
3 . The umbrella as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the water container comprises a water level indicator to allow for inspection of amount of water residual in the water container.Cited by (0)
