Abstract
A method of packaging magnetic random access memory includes covering magnetic random access memory with an external card cover including magnetic shielding to form a card, the external card cover shielding the magnetic random access memory from external magnetic fields. A method of forming a memory card includes connecting a printed circuit assembly including at least one magnetic random access memory to a memory card cover to form the memory card, a side of the printed circuit assembly on which magnetic shielding is provided forming an external portion of the memory card.

14 . A method of packaging magnetic random access memory, the method comprising:
covering magnetic random access memory with an external card cover comprising magnetic shielding to form a card, the external card cover shielding the magnetic random access memory from external magnetic fields.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the covering comprises molding a compound comprising magnetic shielding material to form the external card cover.
16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the covering comprises molding a plastic compound comprising magnetic shielding particles to form the external card cover.
17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the covering comprises spraying or sputtering an inside face of the external card cover with magnetic shielding material.
18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the covering comprises attaching a thin foil of magnetic shielding material to an inside face of the external card cover.
19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the covering comprises providing two external card cover portions; further wherein the covering comprises disposing the card cover portions on opposite sides of the magnetic random access memory to form the card.
20 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising:
connecting the magnetic random access memory to a substrate, one side of the substrate being adapted to form an external face of the card.
21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising applying additional magnetic shielding material on the one side of the substrate.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein applying additional magnetic shielding comprises connecting a thin foil of magnetic shielding material to the one side of the substrate.
23 . A method of forming a memory card, the method comprising:
connecting a printed circuit assembly comprising at least one magnetic random access memory to a memory card cover to form the memory card, wherein a side of the printed circuit assembly on which magnetic shielding is provided forms an external portion of the memory card.
24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising applying magnetic shielding material on the side of the printed circuit assembly.
25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the applying comprises connecting a thin foil of magnetic shielding material on the side of the printed circuit assembly.
26 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the connecting comprises connecting the printed circuit assembly to a memory card cover comprising additional magnetic shielding.
27 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising applying additional magnetic shielding over the at least one magnetic random access memory.
28 . A method of packaging magnetic memory, comprising:
covering magnetic memory with an external cover, the cover comprising magnetic shielding to shield the magnetic memory from external magnetic fields, the cover defining a first edge; and connecting an input/output connector to the magnetic memory, the connector being disposed along a second edge of the cover and being adapted to removably connect the magnetic memory to multiple devices.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the covering comprises defining a memory card; further wherein the connector forms an edge of the memory card and is adapted to removably connect the memory card to multiple host devices for receiving the memory card.
30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the covering comprises disposing the magnetic shielding on and around the magnetic memory.
31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the covering comprises disposing the magnetic shielding in the cover.
32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the covering comprises covering the magnetic memory with two cover portions formed as separate pieces, the connector being bordered on one side thereof by one of the cover portions and on an opposite side thereof by the other cover portion.
33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein the covering comprises supporting and spacing apart the cover portions with an internal frame, the internal frame defining a recess for accommodating the connector.Cited by (0)
