Abstract

A biodegradable film formable into biodegradable bags includes the blended product of polylactic acid and an aliphatic aromatic co-polyester resin. The blended product includes from about 5% to about 50% by weight polylactic acid.

A biodegradable bag having a caliper thickness of about 2 mils or less, and being formed from one or more biodegradable films, said biodegradable films comprising a blended product of polylactic acid and an aliphatic aromatic co-polyester resin, with said co-polyester resin having a melt flow rate of less than about 5 g/10 min.  
   
   
       2 . A biodegradable bag as in  claim 1  wherein said blended product includes from about 5% to about 50% by weight polylactic acid.  
   
   
       3 . A biodegradable bag as in  claim 1  wherein said blended product is film formed from a blown film extrusion process.  
   
   
       4 . A biodegradable bag as in  claim 1  wherein said caliper thickness is about 1 mil.
