Claims

Abstract

A detecting, monitoring and reporting apparatus includes at least two sensors for facilitating the generation of data indicative of physiological parameters of the individual and/or data indicative of a contextual parameters of the individual. A processor is coupled to the sensors and is adapted to generate at least one of derived data from at least a portion of the data indicative of physiological parameters and analytical status data from at least a portion of at least one of the data indicative of physiological parameters, the data indicative of contextual parameters, the derived data and the analytical status data. A memory retrievably stores the data and one of various ways of transmitting the data is provided.

1 . An apparatus for detecting, monitoring and reporting an individual's status information, comprising: 
 a. a sensor device including: 
 a first and second sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological sensors and contextual sensors, said first sensor generating data indicative of at least a first parameter of said individual, said second sensor generating data indicative of at least a second parameter of said individual; and  
   b. a computing device in electronic communication with said sensor device, said computing device receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of said first and second parameters of said individual, said computing device generating derived data based on said data indicative of said first and second parameters of said individual, said derived data used to control said computing device.    
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1  further comprising a memory for retrievably storing at least a portion of at least one said data indicative of a first parameter, said data indicative of a second parameter, and said derived data.  
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 2  wherein said memory is in a wearable device.  
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1  wherein said sensor device further comprises a processor to control said sensor device.  
     
     
         5 . An apparatus for detecting, monitoring and reporting an individual's status information, comprising: 
 a. a sensor device including: 
 a first and a second sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological sensors and contextual sensors, said first sensor generating data indicative of at least a first parameter of said individual, said second sensor generating data indicative of at least a second parameter of said individual; and  
   b. a computing device in electronic communication with said sensor device, said computing device receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of said first and second parameters of said individual, said computing device generating derived data based on said data indicative of said first and second parameters of said individual, said derived data used to control a device separate from said computing device.    
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5  further comprising a memory for retrievably storing at least a portion of at least one said data indicative of a first parameter, said data indicative of a second parameter, and said derived data.  
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 6  wherein said memory is in a wearable device.  
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 5  wherein said sensor device further comprises a processor to control said sensor device.  
     
     
         9 . An apparatus for detecting, monitoring, and reporting an individual's status information, said apparatus comprising: 
 a. a sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological and contextual sensors, said sensor generating data indicative of at least a first physiological parameter related to an individual;    b. a device to receive data indicative of at least a second parameter related to said individual; and    c. a processor receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of a first parameter and at least a portion of said data indicative of a second parameter and generating analytical status data based on said received data.    
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 9  wherein at least one of said sensor, said device to receive, and said processor is wearable.  
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 9  further comprising a computing device in electronic communication with at least one of said sensor device, said device to receive, and said processor, said computing device receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of a first parameter and at least a portion of said data indicative of a second parameter and generating derived based on said data indicative of a first parameter and said data indicative of a second parameter, said derived data used to control said computing device.  
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 11  wherein said computing device is in a wearable device.  
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 9  further comprising a computing device in electronic communication with at least one of said sensor device, said device to receive, and said processor, said computing device receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of a first parameter and at least a portion of said data indicative of a second parameter and generating derived based on said data indicative of a first parameter and said data indicative of a second parameter, said derived data used to control a device separate from said computing device.  
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  13  wherein said computing device is in a wearable device.  
     
     
         15 . An apparatus for detecting, monitoring, and reporting an individual's status information, said apparatus comprising: 
 a. a sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological and contextual sensors, said sensor generating data indicative of at least a first parameter related to siad individual;    b. a device to receive data indicative of at least a second parameter related to said individual;    c. a memory for retrievably storing at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter, said data indicative of at least a second parameter; and    d. a computing device in electronic communication with at least one of said sensor, said input device, and said memory, said computing device receiving at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter and said data indicative of at least a second parameter and generating derived data based on at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter and said data indicative of at least a second parameter.    
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 15  wherein at least one of said sensor, said device to receive, said memory and said computing device is in a wearable device.  
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 15  wherein said computing device uses said derived data to control a separate device.  
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 15  wherein said computing device used said derived data to control said computing device.  
     
     
         19 . A system for detecting, monitoring, and reporting an individual's status information, said apparatus comprising: 
 a. a first sensor device comprising a processor and a sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological and contextual sensors, said sensor generating data indicative of at least a first parameter related to said individual; and    b. a second sensor device comprising a processor and a sensor selected from the group consisting of physiological and contextual sensors, said sensor generating data indicative of at least a second parameter related to said individual,    wherein said processor of said first sensor device is capable of receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of at least a second parameter from said second sensor device and generates at least a portion of derived data based on at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of said first parameter and said data indicative of said second parameter; and    wherein said processor of said second sensor device is capable of receiving at least a portion of said data indicative of at least a first parameter from said first sensor device and generates at least a portion of derived data based on at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of said first parameter and at said data indicative of said second parameter.    
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a third processor to generate derived data from said portions of derived data.  
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 19  wherein at least one of said processor of said first sensor device and said processor of said second sensor device generates a third status parameter from said portions of derived data.  
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a computing device in electronic communication with at least one of said first sensor device and said second sensor device, said computing device receiving at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter, said data indicative of at least a second parameter, and said derived data and using portions of said received data to control said computing device.  
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a computing device in electronic communication with at least one of said first sensor device and said second sensor device, said computing device receiving at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter, said data indicative of at least a second parameter, and said derived data and using portions of said received data to control a separate device.  
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a memory for retrievably storing at least a portion of at least one of said data indicative of at least a first parameter, said data indicative of at least a second parameter, and said derived data.  
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 19  wherein at least one of said first sensor device, said second sensor device, said computing device, and said memory is in a wearable device.
