Wireless system for recording, transmitting and receiving messages on a consumer accessible receiver

Abstract

A system is provided for distributing one or more packets of information such as redeemable coupons, forms, messages, tickets, warnings and written packets to potential recipients of said packets from a receiver at a remote location. The steps included in such a system are: (1) developing a receiver directory containing unique identification information for each of said potential receivers; (2) creating a packet to be dispatched to at least one of said receiver; (3) identifying the potential receivers for a particular packet; (4) transmitting said packet through a network to all of said potential receivers; (5) receiving, storing and selectively processing only those packets intended to be processed and printed by said receiver; and (6) displaying said packet. A variety of audio and visual display components and motion sensors may also be provided to enhance the appeal of the receivers.

1 . A system for distributing packets of information to individuals in a specified geographic location, said individuals having electronic receivers having means for receiving wireless telecommunication signals, said system including: 
 means for creating said packets of information in a digital format; and    means for transmitting said packets of information to said geographic location such that said electronic receivers may automatically receive, process and store said transmitted packets of information, and convert said packets of information into a format into an audiovisual display.    
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said packets of information are selected from the group consisting of messages, notices, redeemable retail coupons, recipes, tickets, warnings, written information, pictures, greetings, text messages, photographs, blog excerpts, music and videos.  
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein means for transmitting comprises means for transmitting a signal via broadband.  
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein said means for transmitting is selected from the group consisting of satellite transmission systems, cellular telephone networks, wireless pager networks, RF transmitters, satellite dish tap, remote control, radar, ultraviolet transmitters, infrared transmitters, X-ray transmitters and gamma ray transmitters.  
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said means for creating includes means for importing textual and graphic information relating to said packets.  
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said means for identifying includes a database manager having a directory of all receivers and means for identifying those receivers to which each of said packets are intended to be distributed.  
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said means for sequencing comprises a transmission sequence compiler.  
     
     
         8 . A method for distributing packets of information to individuals in a specified geographic location, said individuals having electronic receivers including means for receiving wireless telecommunication signals, said system including, said method including: 
 creating said packets of information in a digital format;    transmitting said packets of information to said geographic location over a wireless network;    selectively and securely receiving, processing and storing said transmitted packets of information at selected receivers; and    converting said packets of information into a format into a visual or audio display.    
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein said packets of information are selected from the group consisting of messages, notices, redeemable retail coupons, recipes, tickets, warnings, and written information.
