Abstract
The present invention relates to a nail makeup and/or care composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least one alkyd resin and at least one polyester derived from the polycondensation of adipic acid, of a polyalcohol and of a compound comprising three acid and/or anhydride functions, the weight content, relative to the total weight of the composition, of alkyd resin being greater than the weight content of said polyester, and also to a packaging and application assembly for applying a composition containing said polyester to the nails, and to nontherapeutic processes for making up and/or caring for the associated nails.

A nail makeup and/or care composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, (i) at least one alkyd resin and (ii) at least one polyester derived from the polycondensation of adipic acid, a polyalcohol and a compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof, wherein a weight content, relative to a total weight of the composition, of alkyd resin being greater than a weight content of said polyester.
2 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyalcohol is a dialcohol and contains from 2 to 6 carbon atoms.
3 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof contains from 8 to 16 carbon atoms.
4 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein a solids content of alkyd resin is greater than or equal to 2% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
5 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the alkyd resin is present in a solids content ranging from 2% to 25% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyalcohol is selected from the group consisting of neopentyl glycol, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 2,3-butanediol, 2,2-propanediol, 1,1-ethanediol, glycerol, pentaerythritol, trimethylolpropane, trimethylolethane, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,4-butanediol and diethylene glycol.
7 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof is trimellitic anhydride.
8 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein said polyester is an adipic acid/neopentyl glycol/trimellitic anhydride copolymer.
9 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein said polyester is present in a solids content of greater than or equal to 0.01% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
10 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein said polyester is present in a solids content ranging from 0.01% to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
11 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein a weight ratio, expressed as solids, between the alkyd resin and said polyester is greater than 1.
12 . The composition according to claim 1 , wherein a weight ratio between the alkyd resin and said polyester is between 1 and 15.
13 . The composition according to claim 1 , comprising one or more film-forming polymer(s).
14 . The composition according to claim 13 , comprising nitrocellulose as the film-forming polymer.
15 . The composition according to claim 14 , wherein the nitrocellulose is present in a solids content of greater than or equal to 4% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
16 . The composition according to claim 13 , further comprising an auxiliary film-forming agent for the film-forming polymer(s).
17 . The composition according to claim 16 , wherein said auxiliary film-forming agent is selected from the group consisting of plasticizers and coalescers.
18 . The composition according to claim 1 , comprising a compound of formula (I)
in which
R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , which may be identical or different, represent H or a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated C 1 -C 30 alkyl chain, at least one from among R 1 , R 2 and R 3 being other than a hydrogen atom, and
R 4 represents a hydrogen atom or a group R′ 4 —CO—, in which R′ 4 represents a C 1 -C 8 alkyl group,
as plasticizer.
19 . The composition according to claim 1 , comprising a compound of formula (II)
in which α represents the ortho or para position of the methyl group, and
R and R′, which may be identical or different, represent a hydrogen atom or a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, as plasticizer.
20 . The composition according to claim 1 , comprising at least one organic solvent.
21 . The composition according to claim 20 , wherein the at least one organic solvent is volatile.
22 . The composition according to claim 1 , comprising a silicone oil selected from the group consisting of polydimethylsiloxanes.
23 . The composition according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one additive selected from the group consisting of dyestuffs, preserving agents, fragrances, oils, waxes, surfactants, antioxidants, free-radical scavengers, spreading agents, wetting agents, dispersants, antifoams, neutralizers, stabilizers, active agents chosen from essential oils, UV-screening agents/sunscreens, moisturizers, vitamins, proteins, ceramides and plant extracts and mixtures thereof.
24 . A method to form a basecoat in a multilayer makeup, comprising applying a composition according to claim 1 .
25 . A packaging and application assembly for a nail makeup and/or care composition, comprising:
i) a container containing the composition, said composition containing a polyester derived from the polycondensation of adipic acid, a polyalcohol and a compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof ii) an applicator comprising a stem and an application member located at one end of the stem, said application member having at least one portion of elongate cross section.

The packaging and application assembly according to claim 25 , wherein said compositioncomprises, in a physiologically acceptable medium, (i) at least one alkyd resin and (ii) at least one polyester derived from the polycondensation of adipic acid, a polyalcohol and a compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof, wherein a weight content, relative to a total weight of the composition, of alkyd resin being greater than a weight content of said polyester.
27 . The packaging and application assembly according to claim 25 , wherein the application member consists of an arrangement of bristles implanted in an end portion of the stem, in the form of at least one tuft of elongate cross section at its base, or in the form of a plurality of adjacent tufts.
28 . The assembly according to claim 25 , wherein the application member consists of a spatula or of an application member with capillary retention, with a felt or with a flocked tip.
29 . The assembly according to claim 25 , wherein the application member is obtained by molding with the stem or with a portion solidly fastened to the stem.
30 . The assembly according to claim 25 , wherein the application member consists of an arrangement of bristles and in that the bristles are implanted in an end portion of the stem, by at least one of stapling, overinjection, welding, bonding, crimping of the stem, and stamping of the stem.
31 . The assembly according to claim 30 , wherein the bristles are fixed in a housing of an end portion of the stem, the housing having an aperture of noncircular cross section.
32 . The assembly according to claim 31 , wherein the housing has an aperture of oblong cross section.
33 . The assembly according to claim 31 , wherein the aperture is of elongate cross section along an axis of greatest length and the stem comprises a wall of variable thickness around the housing.
34 . The assembly according to claim 33 , wherein the stem has, in the end portion, a cross section having an outer contour that shows no concavity, with the exception of a groove or of two grooves, this or these grooves extending along at least a part of the stem and being located substantially, when the stem is observed in cross section, halfway down along the axis of the housing.
35 . The assembly according to claim 34 , wherein the stem comprises two grooves located opposite each other.
36 . The assembly according to claim 35 , wherein the grooves are symmetrical relative to a midplane parallel to the axis.
37 . The assembly according to claim 34 , wherein the end portion of the stem has, in cross section, two convex opposite sides each connecting one of the sides comprising the groove to the opposite side.
38 . The assembly according to claim 25 , wherein the polyalcohol is a dialcohol and contains from 2 to 6 carbon atoms and the compound containing three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof contains from 8 to 16 carbon atoms.
39 . A nontherapeutic nail makeup and/or care process, comprising the application to all or part of the nail of at least one coat of a composition according to claim 1 .
40 . A makeup process according to claim 39 , wherein the surface to be made up is a natural or synthetic nail.
41 . A made-up synthetic support comprising a makeup obtained according to the process according to claim 39 .
42 . The made-up synthetic support according to claim 41 , wherein it is false nails.
43 . A nontherapeutic nail makeup and/or care process, comprising the application to all or part of the nail of at least one coat of a composition containing a polyester derived from the polycondensation of adipic acid, a polyalcohol and a compound comprising three acid or anhydride functions or mixtures thereof, said composition being applied using an applicator comprising a stem and an application member located at one end of the stem, said application member having at least one portion of elongate cross section.
44 . A makeup process according to claim 43 , wherein the surface to be made up is a natural or synthetic nail.
45 . A made-up synthetic support comprising a makeup obtained according to the process according to claim 43 .
