Method for making a nicotine toothpick

Abstract

A method for making a nicotine-containing toothpick, includes creating a solution having a predetermined concentration of nicotine. A toothpick is exposed to the solution, and the amount of solution added to the toothpick is determined. The solution may be a liquid solution, or a saliva soluble powder solution. The concentration of the solution can be adjusted, or multiple solutions of varying concentrations of nicotine made, to create toothpicks of varying nicotine levels. Sweeteners, medicaments, breath fresheners, or dentifrices can be added to the toothpick.

1 . A method for making a nicotine toothpick, comprising the steps of: 
 creating a solution containing a predetermined concentration of nicotine;    exposing a toothpick to the solution; and    measuring the amount of solution added to the toothpick.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , including the step of adjusting the concentration of the solution to create toothpicks of varying nicotine levels.  
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the solution concentration is between 5 mg and 80 mg nicotine per ml of solution.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the creating step includes the step of adding proportionally 1000 mg of nicotine per ml of a first water-based solution, and adding proportionally between 0.3 and 4.8 ml of the first nicotine solution to 60 ml of a second water-based solution.  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 4 , including the step of creating multiple liquid solutions of varying concentrations of nicotine, and at least partially submerging a toothpick into each solution for a predetermined time to create toothpicks of varying nicotine levels.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the solution comprises a saliva soluble powder solution.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the exposing step comprises the step of distributing the powder solution over the toothpick.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the toothpick is placed in a tumbler device with the powder solution.  
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the measuring step comprises the steps of measuring the amount of solution after the toothpick has been exposed, and comparing this amount to an amount of original solution.  
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the measuring step comprises the steps of weighing the toothpick before it is exposed, and comparing the weight to a measured weight of the toothpick after it has been exposed.  
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 1 , including the step of adding a sweetener, medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice to the toothpick.  
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the sweetener medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice is added to the solution.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the toothpick is coated with the sweetener, medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice after being exposed to the solution.  
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the toothpick is coated with melted Xylitol.  
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 1 , including the step of placing the toothpick in a water-proof sealed packaging.  
   
   
       16 . A method for making a nicotine toothpick, comprising the steps of: 
 creating a liquid solution containing a concentration of nicotine between 5 mg and 80 mg per ml of solution;    at least partially submerging a toothpick in the solution;    measuring the amount of solution added to the toothpick by either measuring the amount of solution after the toothpick has been submerged, and comparing this amount to an amount of original solution, or weighing the toothpick before it is exposed, and comparing the weight to a measured weight of the toothpick after it has been submerged;    adding a sweetener, medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice to the toothpick; and    placing the toothpick in a water-proof sealed packaging.    
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 16 , including the step of adjusting the concentration of the solution or creating multiple liquid solutions of varying concentrations of nicotine, and at least partially submerging a toothpick into each solution for a predetermined time to create toothpicks of varying nicotine levels.  
   
   
       18 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the creating step includes the step of adding proportionally 1000 mg of nicotine per ml of a first water-based solution, and adding proportionally between 0.3 and 4.8 ml of the first nicotine solution to 60 ml of a second water-based solution.  
   
   
       19 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the sweetener medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice is added to the solution or coated onto the toothpick after the toothpick is removed from the solution.  
   
   
       20 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the toothpick is coated with melted Xylitol.  
   
   
       21 . A method for making a nicotine toothpick, comprising the steps of: 
 creating a saliva soluble powder solution containing a predetermined concentration of nicotine of between 5 mg and 80 mg of nicotine per ml of solution;    at least partially coating a toothpick with the powder solution; and    measuring the amount of solution added to the toothpick by either measuring the amount of solution after the toothpick has been coated, and comparing this amount to an amount of original solution, or weighing the toothpick before it is coated, and comparing the weight to a measured weight of the toothpick after it has been coated;    adding a sweetener, medicament, breath freshener, or dentifrice to the toothpick; and    placing the toothpick in a water-proof sealed packaging.    
   
   
       22 . The method of  claim 21 , including the step of adjusting the concentration of the solution or creating multiple solutions of varying concentrations of nicotine, and at least partially coating a toothpick with each solution to create toothpicks of varying nicotine levels.  
   
   
       23 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the toothpick is placed in a tumbler device with the powder solution.  
   
   
       24 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the toothpick is coated with melted Xylitol.
