Swish shot

Abstract

This rim fits inside any regulation basketball rim thus decreasing the area that the ball fits through. The “swish shot” rim causes one to shoot swishes (having the ball go through the hoop without touching the rim). It will also help develop arch on the ball and overall increases accuracy in shooting—especially shooting foul shots and “jump” shots. This is the rim you practice on until you can consistently make your shots. This will increase your shooting percentage tremendously on the regulation rim. Note —takes less than 5 minutes to attach or detach to a regulation rim.

1 . I, Ronald De Vries, claim the following regarding my invention referred to as the “Swish Shot” rim. The aluminum (or metal) rim measures 14½ inches outside diameter and 13½ inches inside diameter. It is ½ inches thick. (Other materials could be used to perform the same function.) The swish shot rim is designed to attach to the inside of a regulation basketball rim thus decreasing the area of the regulation rim and the area that the ball fits through. The rim can be attached by nylon/Velcro straps (as shown in attached drawings) or by evenly sized springs or other type fasteners that attach to the regulation rim. The purpose of the Swish Shot is to increase shooting accuracy and helps the shooter develop an arch on the ball. It is specifically designed to improve on shooting foul shots and jump shots, (including 3 pointers). This rim is specifically used to practice on but for more advanced players, it can also be used to make the game more challenging. Whether used for practice or in a game, it is sure to improve the shooters accuracy and shooting percentages, and that is the “swish shots”) intended purpose and use. It is a very simple; yet, extremely proficient means of helping a player shoot better.
