Abstract

A reusable labeling construction for a container comprises a removable label and a label panel. The removable label, according to one of its embodiments, includes a strip constructed of a selected strip material having an area adapted to receive information corresponding to a recipient's address, and a layer of selected adhesive. The label panel is adapted to be supported by a container body and includes a transparent surface portion formed of a material to which the selected adhesive will adhere sufficiently to retain the label on the transparent surface portion during shipment, yet from which it may be removed without tearing the strip material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A reusable labeling construction for use with a container that is adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
 a. a removable label including
 i. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having an area adapted to receive information corresponding to an address of the intended recipient, and
ii. a layer of a selected adhesive; and
   b. a label panel adapted to be supported by a body of said container, said label panel including a transparent surface portion formed of a material to which the selected adhesive will adhere sufficiently to retain the label on the transparent surface portion during shipment, yet from which the label may be removed without tearing the strip material.

2 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label panel includes a substrate having a return address area adapted to receive information corresponding to a return address for the container, said transparent layer overlaying said return address area.

3 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes a tracking information area adapted to receive tracking information provided by a carrier responsible for delivering the parcel to the intended recipient.

4 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes pre-paid postage information.

5 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 4 wherein the pre-paid postage information is printed on said label substrate.

6 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes inventory tracking information associated with the container.

7 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate is a placard and wherein said transparent surface portion is a layer of film adhered to said placard.

8 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said release material is polytetrafluoroethylene.

9 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said removable layer is opaque.

10 . A reusable labeling construction for use with a container that is adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
 a. a label substrate adapted to be secured to a body of said container, said label panel including return address indicia; b. a transparent layer secured to said label panel and overlaying said return address indicia, said transparent layer including an exposed surface portion formed of a release material; and c. a removable label, including
 i. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having an area adapted to receive information corresponding to an address of an intended recipient of the received parcel, and
ii. a layer of a selected adhesive which is adapted to adhere sufficiently to the exposed surface portion of said transparent layer to retain the label on the transparent layer during shipment, yet from which the label may be forcefully removed without tearing the strip material.

11 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said release material is polytetrafluoroethylene and the removable label is opaque.

12 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said label substrate is a stiff, rectangular placard.

13 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein the return address indicia corresponds to a return address for an owner of the container.

14 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 12 wherein the return address indicia is pre-printed in a central location on said placard.

15 . A reusable labeling construction according to any of claims 10 and 12 wherein said transparent layer is adhered to said label substrate.

16 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 15 wherein said transparent layer is a rectangular sheet of film having a reduced surface area relative to said label panel.

17 . A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said label substrate includes indicia thereon selected from a group consisting of: pre-paid postage information, postage charging information, inventory tracking associated with the container, and said return address indicia.
