Merchandising system

Abstract

A system and method for providing a merchandising system is disclosed. The system includes at least three dividers configured to be spaced apart relative to each other and at least two interfaces. Individual interfaces are provided between adjacent dividers and provide selective adjustability between the adjacent dividers. Each individual interface includes a series of notches and at least two flanges, each flange having a projection configured to selectively engage and disengage one of the series of notches by depressing the flange relative to the series of notches.

1 . A modular divider system comprising: 
 at least three dividers configured to be spaced apart relative to each other; and    at least two interfaces;    wherein an individual interface is provided between two adjacent dividers and wherein the individual interface provides for selective adjustability between two adjacent dividers; and    wherein each individual interface comprises a series of notches and at least two flanges, each flange having a projection configured to selectively engage and disengage one of the series of notches by depressing the flange relative to the series of notches.    
   
   
       2 . The divider system of  claim 1  wherein each individual interface comprises a connector, the connector being physically separable from the at least three dividers.  
   
   
       3 . The divider system of  claim 1  wherein the connector is selected from a set of multi-sized connectors.  
   
   
       4 . The divider system of  claim 2  wherein the connector includes the at least two flanges.  
   
   
       5 . The divider system of  claim 1  further comprising a pusher system provided with an individual divider, wherein the pusher system includes a pusher face configured to be urged toward a front edge of the divider system by a biasing element.  
   
   
       6 . The divider system of  claim 5  further comprising a slot provided on an individual divider, wherein the pusher face is configured to move along the slot.  
   
   
       7 . The divider system of  claim 1  wherein the plurality of dividers further comprise divider panels.  
   
   
       8 . The divider system of  claim 1  wherein an individual divider further comprises a product support surface having at least one friction-reducing ribs.  
   
   
       9 . The divider system of  claim 1  further comprising a non-skid material provided on a bottom of at least one of the three dividers and the two interfaces.  
   
   
       10 . The divider system of  claim 1  wherein the individual interface between two adjacent dividers comprises a connector having a base and a cover, wherein the connector includes the series of notches.  
   
   
       11 . The divider system of Clam  10  wherein the series of notches are located on the cover.  
   
   
       12 . A merchandising system for providing compartments for merchandise comprising: 
 a plurality of divider members, wherein individual divider members are spaced apart relative to each other; and    a plurality of connectors;    wherein each divider member includes at least two flanges and each connector includes at least two notches, the flanges being configured to selectively coact with the two notches;    wherein an individual connector is provided between two adjacent divider members and wherein the individual connector provides for selective adjustment of the spacing of the two adjacent divider members;    wherein the size of the compartments is determined by the spacing of the two adjacent divider members; and    wherein the plurality of connectors are physically separable from the plurality of divider members.    
   
   
       13 . The merchandising system of  claim 12 , wherein each flange includes a tab that coacts with one of the two notches.  
   
   
       14 . The merchandising system of  claim 12 , wherein each flange is flexible.  
   
   
       15 . An adjustable merchandising tray comprising: 
 a first divider;    a second divider; and    a connector, the connector adjustably coupling the first divider to the second divider;    wherein the first divider and a second divider each include a flexible flange having a projection configured to selectively coact with a series of notches on the connector; and    wherein an individual projection is configured to selectively coact with the series of notches by flexing the flange.    
   
   
       16 . The adjustable merchandising tray of  claim 15 , wherein the flange is a cantilevered member.  
   
   
       17 . The adjustable merchandising tray of  claim 16 , wherein the projection is on the free end of the cantilevered member.  
   
   
       18 . The adjustable merchandising tray of  claim 15 , wherein each connector further comprises a cover and a base, the cover and the base defining an interior.  
   
   
       19 . The adjustable merchandising tray of  claim 18 , wherein the series of notches are located in the cover, and the flange is at least partially located within the interior.  
   
   
       20 . The adjustable merchandising tray of  claim 19 , further comprising a pusher assembly biased toward a front edge of the adjustable merchandising tray, wherein the pusher assembly includes a pusher face that moves along a slot in one of the first divider and the second divider.
