Insulated container and cushion assembly

Abstract

A soft-sided container assembly may include a thermally insulated container assembly and a second wall structure. The second wall structure may be detachable, and may be used as a cushion. The cushion may contain cushioning material. The cushioning material may be extracted from the cushion and unfolded to act as a blanket or picnic cloth. The thermally insulated wall structure may include beverage holding receptacles. The thermally insulated wall structure may be moved to a collapsed position, and may be secured in the collapsed position. The assembly may include a music player.

1 . A soft sided insulated container assembly including: 
 an insulated wall structure having a first, insulated, chamber defined therein and a first closure member operable to govern access to said chamber;    an auxiliary wall structure releasably attached thereto, said auxiliary wall structure having a second chamber defined therein, said auxiliary wall structure having a second closure member governing access to said second chamber; and    a pliable resilient member, said pliable resilient member being movable between a first, folded position within said auxiliary wall structure, and a second, unfolded position;    in said second, unfolded position said pliable resilient member having a plan form extent more than 10 times as great as when in said folded position; and    said auxiliary wall structure having a profile of a size comparable to, or smaller than, said insulated wall structure.    
   
   
       2 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 1  wherein, in said folded position, said pliable resilient member has a number of plies that is in the range of 10 to 30.  
   
   
       3 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 2  wherein said number of plies is in the range 12 to 20.  
   
   
       4 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 1  wherein said insulated wall structure is movable between an expanded position and a collapsed position.  
   
   
       5 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 4  further comprising securement fittings operable to secure said insulated wall structure in said collapsed position.  
   
   
       6 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 1  wherein said insulated wall structure further comprises and externally accessible beverage container accommodation  
   
   
       7 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 1  wherein said auxiliary wall structure is a cushion.  
   
   
       8 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 7  wherein said cushion employs said resilient pliable member as a stuffing therefore.  
   
   
       9 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 8  wherein when said resilient pliable member is folded and located within said auxiliary wall structure, said resilient pliable member has at least ten folded plies.  
   
   
       10 . The soft-sided insulated container of  claim 12  wherein said container further includes a sound reproduction device.  
   
   
       11 . A soft-sided insulated container assembly comprising: 
 a six-sided thermally insulated container;    a second soft-sided enclosure detachably mounted to said thermally insulated container;    said thermally insulated container having a height and a width;    said second, soft sided container having a large side of comparable extent to said height and width of said thermally insulated container;    said second, soft-sided container being detachable from said thermally insulated container and, when so detached, being operable as a cushion;    said second, soft-sided container having a closure member operable to govern access thereto;    said second, soft-sided container having a cushioning material stored therein;    said cushioning material being unfodable, and, in an unfolded position, said cushioning material being operable as a blanket.    
   
   
       12 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  further comprising a beverage holder socket mounted to said thermally insulated container, said socket being externally accessible.  
   
   
       13 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  further comprising sound reproduction apparatus.  
   
   
       14 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  wherein said second soft-sided container and said thermally insulated container, when attached, are connected in a back-to-back manner.  
   
   
       15 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  wherein said second soft-sided container and said thermally insulated container, when attached, are connected across mutual upper margins of opposed sides, and in another region distant from said upper margins.  
   
   
       16 . The soft sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  wherein, when mounted to said thermally insulated container, said second soft-sided container has a profile that lies one of (a) flush with; and (b) shy of, a corresponding profile of said thermally insulated container.  
   
   
       17 . The soft-sided insulated container assembly of  claim 11  wherein said thermally insulated container is movable between an extended position and a collapsible position.  
   
   
       18 . The soft-sided container assembly of  claim 17  wherein said thermally insulated container has releasable securements that are operable to retain said thermally insulated container in said collapsed position.  
   
   
       19 . The soft-sided container assembly of  claim 11  wherein: 
 said thermally insulated container is movable to a collapsed position, and is securable in said collapsed position;    when attached, said second soft-sided container is mounted in a back-to back fashion on said thermally insulated container;    when attached, said second soft-sided container has a profile that is one of (a) flush with, and (b) shy of, a corresponding profile of said thermally insulated container, in both width and height;    said cushioning material is a blanket that may be removed entirely from said second soft-sided container;    said thermally insulated container has at least one beverage receptacle mounted thereto;    said thermally insulated container has a first lifting member; and    said second container has a second lifting member.    
   
   
       20 . The soft-sided container of  claim 19  wherein said container assembly has at least one of (a) a CD player; and (b) a radio, mounted thereto.
