Abstract
The present invention is directed to a cooling system for agricultural buildings and, more specifically, it is directed to a support-mounted fan. The goal of this invention is to provide a fan assembly to increase the circulation of air in an agricultural building and improve the health and comfort of animals housed therein, as well as to provide for such an assembly which may be easily and conveniently positioned for such purposes.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 10 . (canceled)
11 . A method of cooling livestock in a livestock area of an agricultural building, comprising:
affixing a base of an elongated, vertical support to a floor in said livestock area of said agricultural building, said vertical support extending upwardly from said floor; affixing a motor to said vertical support; affixing a horizontal support to an upper end of said vertical support; mounting a rotatable shaft to said horizontal support and connecting said shaft to said motor; affixing a plurality of fan blades to said shaft, said fan blades being above said livestock; affixing a frame to said horizontal support, said frame substantially surrounding said fan blades; and energizing said motor in a direction to direct airflow downwardly toward said livestock and said floor; whereby a fan assembly of a desired size and weight may be employed to cool the livestock in the livestock area of the agricultural building without regard to structural limitations of any walls or ceiling of the building, and whereby the airflow generated by the fan assembly is efficiently directed downwardly onto tops of the livestock in the livestock area to maximize a number of livestock cooled thereby.
12 . A method, as in claim 1 , further comprising:
affixing a plurality of diffusers to said frame to direct airflow, said diffusers being below said fan blades and above said livestock.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
