Sport utility lounge chair

Abstract

I title my invention the “Sport Utility Lounge Chair”. An improved pool lounge chair that allows a person the advantage of being able to lie face down and have a round padded opening in which to put their face. This permits the user to continue such activities as reading, eating, or working from beneath the chair. It also helps to avoid unwanted sunrays from damaging the users face. A tray is provided in my design that can be used to support a laptop computer for example, from beneath the chair. The tray also attaches to the armrests of the chair to provide the same benefits when the user is seated in the up-right position. A removable full-size buoyant pad covers the top of the chair. When removed, it can be used as a floatation device for relaxing in the water.

1 . My design for an improved pool lounge chair provides a space for the user to place their head while lying on their stomach and tanning their backside. This “head space” is similar to that provided in many types of massage tables which have a padded hole for the person receiving the massage to place their head while lying on their stomach. Current pool lounge chair designs do not provide such a space and thus the user must turn their head to one side or the other when lying in that position. This is uncomfortable and allows potentially harmful rays from the sun to continue to be received by the users face. In most instances, the user has already received enough sun to their face when they switch to this position.  
   
   
       2 . My design for an improved pool lounge chair provides a small attachable tray that has four retractable legs that fit into four holes in the arm rests of the chair. When sitting in the up-right position, the user can straighten the legs of the tray and slide them into the holes on the arm rests to secure the tray to the chair. When needed, this tray will be used to support a laptop computer, a book, a meal, etc. When in the prone position, the user can place the tray (with the legs folded or extended) beneath the chair to continue working on a laptop computer, reading a book, eating a meal, etc.  
   
   
       3 . My design for an improved pool lounge chair provides a buoyant pad, which has a hole for the users face that aligns with the padded hole in the chair itself. This buoyant pad covers the full length of the chair where the user sits or reclines. The pad can be used as a floatation device, which can be removed from the chair and used in a pool or other body of water to allow the user another form of relaxation. There is no claim that this pad can be used as a safety device. Note: the chair can be used with or without the pad, but the pad provides a softer cushion if so desired by the user.
