Preventive/remedy for retinal nerve diseases containing alkyl ether derivatives or salts thereof

Abstract

An alkyl ether derivative represented by the following general formula [1] or its salt: wherein R 1 and R 2 represent each a substituent such as hydrogen, halogeno or alkyl; R 3 represents alkylamino, amino or hydroxyl; the ring A represents a 5- or 6-membered aromatic heterocycle or a benzene ring; m and n are each an integer of from 1 to 6; and p is an integer of from 1 to 3; shows an effect of protecting retinal nerve cells and, therefore, is useful as a preventive and/or a remedy for retinal nerve diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal artery obstruction, retinal venous obstruction, macular degeneration and retinopathy of prematurity.

1 . A preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases characterized in that it comprises an alkyl ether derivative represented by the following general formula [1]:  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
     wherein R 1  and R 2 , which may be the same or different, each represents one or more groups selected from a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, alkenyl, alkenyloxy, amino, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, carbamoyl or heterocyclic group, a protected or unprotected amino, hydroxyl or carboxyl group, a nitro group and an oxo group; R 3  represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkylamino group, or a protected or unprotected amino or hydroxyl group; the ring A represents a 5- or 6-membered aromatic heterocyclic ring or a benzene ring; m and n each represents an integer between 1 and 6; and p represents an integer between 1 and 3; or a salt thereof.  
   
   
       2 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 1 , wherein the portion represented by the following formula:  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
     of the alkyl ether derivative represented by the general formula [1] according to  claim 1  is any one of the following (A), (B), and (C):  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
   
   
       3 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 1 , wherein R 1  represents a hydrogen atom; and R 2  represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group.  
   
   
       4 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 1 , wherein m represents 2; n represents an integer of 2 or 3; and p represents an integer of 1 or 2.  
   
   
       5 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 2 , wherein R 1  represents a hydrogen atom; and R 2  represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group.  
   
   
       6 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 2 , wherein m represents 2; n represents an integer of 2 or 3; and p represents an integer of 1 or 2.  
   
   
       7 . The preventive and/or remedy for retinal nerve diseases according to  claim 3 , wherein m represents 2; n represents an integer of 2 or 3; and p represents an integer of 1 or 2.
