Abstract
Injection devices are provided, which reduce potential outflow of therapeutic agents from an injection site. Devices are provided having at least a first lumen containing one or more therapeutic agents and a second lumen containing a second material for injection into tissue. Other devices are provided having an inner lumen with an injection needle to inject a therapeutic agent and an outer lumen that provides a vacuum seal between the injection needle and the needle track. Further provided are methods of delivering a therapeutic agent to tissue.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A therapeutic delivery system comprising:
a first lumen having a proximal end and a distal orifice; a second lumen having a proximal end and a distal orifice; and a third lumen having a proximal end and a distal orifice,
the first lumen slidable relative to the second lumen,
the second lumen slidable relative to the first lumen, and
the third lumen slidable relative to the second lumen.
2 . The system of claim 1 wherein the first lumen is within the second lumen.
3 . The system of claim 1 wherein the second lumen is within the third lumen.
4 . The system of claim 2 wherein the first lumen is within the third lumen.
5 . The system of claim 1 wherein the first lumen contains a first therapeutic agent and the second lumen contains a first material for ejection from the lumen.
6 . The system of claim 5 wherein the third lumen contains a second material, the second material and first material when interfaced forming a plug.
7 . The system of claim 5 wherein the first material is immiscible with the first therapeutic agent.
8 . The system of claim 1 wherein the movement of the distal orifice of each of the three lumens is controlled independently from one another.
9 . The system of claim 1 wherein at least one of the distal orifices has a piercing tip.
10 . The system of claim 5 wherein the second material comprises a biological glue.
11 . The system of claim 5 wherein the second material comprises a therapeutic barrier trapping agent.
12 . The system of claim 1 wherein the first lumen contains a first material and the second lumen contains a second material and the third lumen contains a third material and wherein the first material and the second material and the third material are different from one another.
13 . A therapeutic delivery system comprising:
a first lumen having a proximal end and a distal therapeutic delivery end; and a lumen set having an inner lumen and an outer lumen, the inner lumen having a distal orifice and the outer lumen having a distal orifice, the first lumen slidable relative to the inner lumen, the first lumen positioned within the inner lumen, the distal therapeutic delivery end of the first lumen extendible past the distal orifice of the outer lumen, the distal orifice of the outer lumen in fluid communication with an outside surface of the first lumen when the delivery end of the first lumen is extending past the distal orifice of the outer lumen, the distal therapeutic delivery end of the first lumen having a piercing portion.
14 . The therapeutic delivery system of claim 13 wherein at least one lumen in the lumen set contains a biological glue.
15 . The therapeutic delivery system of claim 14 wherein at least one lumen in the lumen set contains a therapeutic barrier trapping agent.Cited by (0)
