Abstract
A rolling pin including a hard core, a jacket of a softer material over the core and defining a rolling surface. In one variation, the jacket may be of such length and so positioned on the core as to define end regions of the jacket extending beyond the ends of the core. The jacket end regions are folded inward over the ends of the core. A cap secures to the core each folded inward end region of the jacket. A handle may be at each end of the core.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A rolling pin including a hard, non-yielding core, a soft material jacket on the core defining a rolling surface of the pin wherein the core supports the jacket to reduce yielding of the jacket during rolling by the rolling pin.
. The rolling pin of claim 1 , wherein the soft material jacket has a Shore A hardness in the range of about 45-60.
. The rolling pin of claim 2 , wherein the Shore A hardness is about 51.5.
. The rolling pin of claim 1 , wherein the core has ends and further comprising a cap connected at each end of the core and securing the jacket to the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 1 , wherein the core having ends, and the jacket is of such length and is so positioned on the core as to define end regions of the jacket extending at least to the ends of the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 5 , wherein the jacket end regions are secured at the respective ends of the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 6 , wherein the jacket end regions are folded inward over the ends of the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 7 , wherein holes are formed in the end regions of the jacket which are folded inwardly and engage corresponding pegs mounted on the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 7 , further comprising a cap securing to the core each folded inward end region of the jacket.
. The rolling pin of claim 9 , wherein the cap is disposed over the inwardly folded end regions of the jacket.
. The rolling pin of claim 1 , further comprising a respective handle at each core end.
. The rolling pin of claim 11 , wherein a shaft passes between the handles and through the core, the core being rotatable about the shaft.
. A rolling pin including a hard, non-yielding core, a soft material jacket on the core defining a rolling surface; the core having ends and the jacket being of such length and so positioned on the core as to define end regions of the jacket extending beyond the ends of the core; the jacket end regions being folded inward over the ends of the core; a cap securing to the core each folded inward end region of the jacket; and a handle at each end of the core.
. The rolling pin of claim 13 , wherein a shaft passes between the handles and through the core, the core being rotatable about the shaft.
. The rolling pin of claim 14 , wherein the handles define a non-zero angle with respect to the shaft.
. The rolling pin of claim 15 , wherein the handles are perpendicular with respect to the shaft.
. The rolling pin of claim 13 , wherein the soft material jacket has a Shore A hardness in the range of about 45-60.
. The rolling pin of claim 17 , wherein the Shore A hardness is about 51.5.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
