Abstract

Disclosed are methods of manufacturing a product from individual components comprising the steps of providing data regarding components to a customer; permitting the customer to request a product comprising the combination of the components; transmitting the request to a first location remote from the customer; receiving one of the components at a first location; transporting the components from a first location to a second location; assembling the components into the desired product at the second location; and transporting the assembled product to the customer.

1 . A method of communicating data relating to the manufacture of a multiple-component device comprising: 
 providing an illustration of at least two components on a viewing screen of a computer;    alerting a user if a combination of components is unacceptable according to stored data;    electronically transmitting an order for a multiple-component device to a manufacturing location; and    providing an instruction data sheet with graphical information relating to assembly of the components.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein providing an illustration of at least two components on a viewing screen of a computer comprises displaying a cyber version of a multiple-component device.  
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein alerting a user if a combination of components is unacceptable according to stored data comprises determining whether a combination complies with government regulations.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein transmitting an order for a multiple-component device to a manufacturing location comprises transmitting an order for a multiple component device to a control office.  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein transmitting an order for a multiple-component device to a manufacturing location comprises transmitting an order for a multiple component device to a kit factory.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein transmitting an order for a multiple-component device to a manufacturing location comprises transmitting an order for a multiple component device to an assembly location.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein providing an instruction data sheet with graphical information relating to assembly of the components comprises providing an instruction data sheet with data regarding the order and the customer.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein providing an instruction data sheet with graphical information relating to assembly of the components comprises providing an instruction data sheet with a pictorial representation of the assembled product.  
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 1 , herein providing an instruction data sheet with graphical information relating to assembly of the components comprises printing a schematic picture of the combined components of the multiple-component device.  
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 1 , herein providing an instruction data sheet with graphical information relating to assembly of the components comprises printing a bar code for tracking where a particular order is.  
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 10 , further comprising providing access to the bar code system to a customer to allow the customer to track the progress of the customer's orders.
