Abstract
The present invention relates to polynucleotide and polypeptide molecules for zamp1, a novel member of the β-defensin family. The polypeptides, and polynucleotides encoding them, exhibit anti-microbial activity and may be used in the study or treatment of microbial infections. The present invention also includes antibodies to the zamp1 polypeptides.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A purified antibody which specifically binds to a polypeptide consisting of an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to amino acid residues 23 to 67 of SEQ ID NO:10.
2 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the polypeptide consists of amino acid residues 23 to 67 of SEQ ID NO:10.
3 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the antibody is a polyclonal antibody.
4 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
5 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the antibody is an antibody fragment.
6 . The antibody of claim 5 wherein the antibody fragment is F(ab′) 2 .
7 . The antibody of claim 5 wherein the antibody fragment is Fab.
8 . The antibody of claim 5 wherein the antibody fragment is Fv.
9 . The antibody of claim 5 wherein the antibody fragment is a single chain antibody.
10 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the antibody is a chimeric antibody.
11 . The antibody of claim 1 wherein the antibody is a humanized antibody.
12 . A method of producing an antibody comprising:
inoculating an animal with a polypeptide, wherein the polypeptode consists amino acid residues 23 to 67 of SEQ ID NO:10, and wherein the polypeptide elicits an immune response in the animal to produce the antibody; and isolating the antibody from the animal.
13 . The antibody produced by the method of claim 12 wherein the antibody binds to the polypeptide consisting amino acid residues 23 to 67 of SEQ ID NO:10.
14 . The antibody produced by the method of claim 12 wherein the antibody is a polyclonal antibody.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
