Abstract

A wide variety of pharmaceutically and commercially acceptable dosage forms of ketoprofen are prepared by dissolving ketoprofen in pharmaceutically acceptable solvents.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A clear and stable aqueous solution, comprising a predetermined therapeutically effective amount of an alkali metal salt of ketoprofen dissolved in an aqueous medium.

. The aqueous solution of claim 1 , in which the therapeutically effective amount of ketoprofen salt is a mass equivalent of about 12.5 mgs to 150 mgs of ketoprofen per 5 ml of aqueous solution.

. The aqueous solution of claim 1 , in which there is no particulate matter evident in the solution upon visual examination.

. A palatable solution in accordance with claim 1 , which has a substantially reduced flavor of ketoprofen without additional flavoring agents.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising a flavoring agent.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising a sweetening agent.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising sucrose.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising sorbitol.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising glycerin.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising artificial sweetener.

. The solution of claim 10 , in which the artificial sweetener is saccharine.

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising a preservative composition.

. A colorless solution in accordance with claim 1 .

. A pharmaceutically acceptable and palatable oral dosage form of ketoprofen comprising the solution of claim 1 .

. The solution of claim 1 , further comprising an additional medication.

. The solution of claim 15 , in which the additional medication is a narcotic composition.

. The solution of claim 16 , in which the narcotic composition is hydrocodone.
