Method of Stacking Wires or Cables
Abstract
A method of stacking wires or cables is provided. The method uses a device which includes an attachment portion capable of attachment to a stud or other anchor, and a wire or cable receiving portion connected to the attachment portion. The wire or cable receiving portion has a plurality of segments which form a generally serpentine-shaped spine, thereby providing a plurality of wire or cable receiving slots. A pair of spaced apart tabs extend from each main portion. Each said tab has an end attached to the respective main portion and an opposite end which is free. Each tab curves outwardly and downwardly from the respective main portion and at least partially overlaps the respective wire or cable receiving slot.

providing a wire or cable receiving portion having a plurality of segments which form a generally serpentine shape, thereby providing a plurality of slots; attaching said wire or cable receiving portion to a stud or other anchor; and mounting a wire or cable into one of said slots.
2 . A method of attaching a wire or cable to a wire or cable stacking device comprising:
providing a wire or cable receiving portion having a slot capable of receiving at least one wire or cable therein and a tab at least partially overlapping said slot; attaching said wire or cable receiving portion to a stud or other anchor; and mounting a wire or cable into one of said slots such that said wire or cable is placed underneath said tab.
3 . A method of mounting a wire or cable stacking device to a stud or other anchor comprising:
providing a wire or cable receiving portion having a slot capable of receiving at least one wire or cable therein; providing an attachment portion attached to said wire or cable receiving portion; providing a start gauge on said attachment portion; generally aligning said start gauge with an edge of the stud or other anchor; and attaching said attachment portion to a stud or other anchor, and wherein during said attachment, the start gauge is moved out of alignment with the edge.
4 . A method as claimed in claim 3 , further including the steps of
providing a stop on said attachment portion, said stop being positioned a predetermined distance away from said start gauge and extending downwardly from said attachment portion; wherein said stop abuts the edge of the stud or other anchor in said step of attaching said attachment portion to a stud or other anchor.
5 . A method as claimed in claim 3 , wherein said start gauge extends downwardly from said attachment portion, said start gauge being bent during said step of attaching said attachment portion to a stud or other anchor.
6 . A method as claimed in claim 5 , further including a stop provided on said attachment portion, said stop being positioned a predetermined distance away from said start gauge.
7 . A method as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said stop extends downwardly from said attachment portion and wherein said stop abuts the edge of the stud or other anchor in said step of attaching said attachment portion to a stud or other anchor.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
