Method for balancing the ratio Eb/I in a service multiplexing CDMA system and telecommunication systems using same
Abstract
A method for configuring a telecommunications system including a plurality of entities communicating data via a plurality of transport channels. The entities include at least one sending entity and receiving entity. The communication includes a plurality of processing procedures specific to the plurality of transport channels. Each processing procedure includes a rate matching step including a transformation of an input block of an initial size into an output block of a final size by puncturing and/or repetition. The method includes transmitting a parameter representative of a maximum puncture rate. The method also includes calculating by the sending entity, for each processing procedure, the final size of the output block as a function of the initial size of the input block based on the parameter transmitted. Some input block bits are punctured or repeated based on a variation between a final size and an initial size in the rate matching step.

a step of transmitting a parameter representative of a maximum puncture rate from said receiving entity to said sending entity, said maximum puncture rate being used as a limitation on the amount of puncturing bits of said input block; and a step of calculating, by said sending entity, for each of said processing procedures, said final size of said output block as a function of said initial size of said input block on a basis of a criterion, said criterion being dependent on said parameter transmitted in said step of transmitting, wherein some bits of said input block are punctured or repeated based on a variation between said final size and said initial size in said matching step.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein said step of calculating comprises,
a step for selecting a set of available sizes for a multiplexing frame for said transport channels based on said parameter and said initial size of said input block; a step for selecting one of said available sizes for said multiplexing frame as a maximum payload; and a step for calculating said final size of said output block as a function of said initial size of said input block and said selected maximum payload.
3 . A method for transmitting data over a plurality of transport channels grouped together within a composite of transport channels, an input block of said data being transformed into an output block in a rate matching step, comprising:
a step of receiving a parameter representative of a maximum puncture rate from a base station, said maximum puncture rate being used as limitation of the amount of puncturing bits of said input block; and a step of determining a size of said output block as a function of a size of said input block on a basis of a criterion, said criterion being dependent on said parameter received from said base station wherein some bits of said input block are punctured or repeated based on a variation between the size of said input block and the size of said output block in said matching step.
4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein said step of determining comprises:
a step of selecting a set of available sizes for a multiplexing frame for said transport channels based on said parameter and the size of said input block; a step of selecting one of said available sizes for said multiplexing frame as a maximum payload; and a step of calculating the size of said output block as a function of the size of said input block and said selected maximum payload.
5 . A mobile station configured to communicate data over a plurality of transport channels grouped together within a composite of transport channels, comprising:
means for receiving a parameter representative of a maximum puncture rate, said maximum puncture rate being used as limitation of the amount of puncturing bits of an input block; means for calculating a final size of an output block as a function of an initial size of said input block on a basis of a criterion, said criterion being dependent on said parameter; and means for transforming said input block into said output block by at least one of puncturing and repetition based on a variation between said final size and said initial size.
6 . A base station utilized for a telecommunication system comprising a plurality of entities implementing a phase of communicating data conveyed by a plurality of transport channels, wherein said entities comprise at least one sending entity and at least one receiving entity, said phase of communication of said sending entity comprises a plurality of processing procedures specific to said plurality of transport channels, each processing procedure comprises a rate matching step and said rate matching step executes a transformation of an, input block of an initial size into an output block of a final size by at least one of puncturing and repetition, said base station comprising:
means for transmitting a parameter representative of a maximum puncture rate to said sending entity, said maximum puncture rate being used as limitation of the amount of puncturing bits of said input block; and means for receiving data, said data being transformed by at least one, of puncturing and repetition based on a variation between said final size and said initial size, said final size of said output block being calculated as a function of said initial size of said input block on a basis of a criterion, said criterion being dependent on said parameter representative of said maximum puncture rate.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
