Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A method of treating a subject with a BPI deficiency condition comprising administering to said subject an amount of BPI protein product effective to alleviate the BPI deficiency.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the subject is an adult.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the condition is a selective BPI deficiency.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the subject is a newborn.

. The method of claim 4 wherein the newborn is a premature newborn.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the BPI protein product is rBPI 21 .

. The method of claim 1 wherein the BPI protein product is an N-terminal fragment of BPI having a molecular weight approximately between about 20 to 25 kd.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the BPI protein product is rBPI(10-193)ala 132 .

. The method of claim 1 wherein the BPI protein product is rBPI 50 .
