Abstract

An anti-coking valve arrangement having a valve body that defines a passage for the flow of fluid medium. Valve seat and valve member positioned within the valve body and function to control the flow of fluid medium. A first anti-coking device is operably associated with the valve stem. A second anti-coking device is operably associated with the bearing guide member. A third anti-coking device is operably associated with the valve member and the valve seat. A fourth anti-coking device is operably associated with the valve stem and the bearing guide. A fifth anti-coking device is operably associated with the bearing guide. A sixth anti-coking device is operably associated between the valve stem and the bearing guide.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 29 . (canceled)

         30 . A valve arrangement comprising:
a guide; a valve member connected to a valve stem at least partially extending into said guide, wherein said valve member moves with respect to said guide between an open position and a closed position; a scraper located in said guide; a seal operably associated between said valve stem and said guide.

31 . The valve arrangement of claim 30 further comprising:
a second seal operably associated between said valve stem and said guide; and a lubricant placed between said seal and said second seal.

32 . The valve arrangement of claim 30 wherein said scraper is operably associated between said valve stem and said guide, wherein said scraper circumscribes said valve stem creating a clearance between said scraper and said valve stem, said small clearance is less than the clearance between said guide and said valve stem.

33 . The valve arrangement of claim 30 wherein said scraper is a floating scraper capable of moving within a pocket of said guide.

         34 . A valve arrangement comprising:
a valve member; a valve stem connected to said valve member for facilitating the movement of said valve member between an open position and a closed position; a guide member supporting said valve stem; and a scraper operably associated between said valve stem and said guide, wherein said scraper circumscribes said valve stem creating a small clearance between said scraper and said valve stem, and said small clearance is less than the clearance between said guide and said valve stem.

35 . The valve arrangement of claim 34 wherein said scraper is a floating scraper capable of moving within a pocket of said guide.

         36 . A valve arrangement comprising a valve member;
a valve stem connected to said valve member for facilitating the movement of said valve member between an open and closed position; a guide supporting said valve stem; a scraper operably associated between said valve stem and said guide; and a stem shield being extended along said valve stem to prevent contamination build up on said valve stem.

37 . The valve arrangement of claim 36 wherein said stem shield is integrated with said guide.

38 . The valve arrangement of claim 37 wherein said stem shield extends toward said moveable poppet, preventing said contaminant from building up on said valve stem.

39 . The valve arrangement of claim 36 further comprising:
a first seal operably associated between said valve stem and said guide; a second seal operably associated between said valve stem and said guide; and a lubricant placed between said first seal and said second seal.

40 . The valve arrangement of claim 36 wherein said scraper circumscribes said valve stem and creates a small clearance between said scraper and said valve stem and said small clearance is less than the clearance between said guide and said valve stem.

         41 . An anti-coking valve arrangement comprising:
a valve seat defining an internal passage for a fluid medium; a valve member operably associated with said valve seat; a valve stem connected to said valve member for facilitating the movement of said valve member; a guide member supporting said valve stem; and a first and anti-coking device operably associated with said valve stem.

42 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising a second anti-coking device operably associated with said guide member.

43 . The valve arrangement of claim 42 further comprising a third anti-coking device operably associated with said valve member and said valve seat.

44 . The valve arrangement of claim 43 further comprising a fourth anti-coking device operably associated with said valve stem and said guide.

45 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising an anti-coking device operably associated with said bearing guide.

46 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising an extension on said valve seat that provides a reduced contact seating area between said extension and said valve member while maintaining the minimum flow area through said valve seat.

47 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising a lubricant on the surface of said valve stem and a portion of said valve stem disposed through said bearing member.

48 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising a first seal located on said valve stem at the opposite end of said valve member, and a second seal located at an intermediary position along said valve stem, wherein said first seal and said second seal prevent the build up of contaminants on said valve stem.

49 . The valve arrangement of claim 48 wherein said first seal is an upper stem seal located on one side of said bearing member and a lower stem seal located on a second side of guide member.

50 . The valve arrangement of claim 41 further comprising a scraper comprised of a device which circumscribes said valve stem creating a small clearance between said scraper and said valve stem.

51 . The valve arrangement of claim 50 wherein said small clearance allows said scraper to remove contaminants from said valve stem.

52 . The valve arrangement of claim 50 wherein said small clearance is less than the clearance between said bearing guide and said valve stem.
