- 45 . (canceled)

. A method for reducing volatility of a deicing fluid comprising mono and/or dihydroxy alcohols, said method comprising replacing at least a part of said mono and/or dihydroxy alcohols with an effective volatility reducing amount of a hydroxyl-containing compound having a boiling point higher than said mono and/or dihydroxy alcohol.

. The method as defined in claim 46 wherein said dihydroxy alcohol is selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and mixtures thereof.

. The method as defined in claim 46 wherein said hydroxyl-containing compound is selected from the group consisting of glycerol, sorbitol, hydrocarbyl aldosides, monosaccharides and mixtures thereof.

. The method of claim 46 wherein said deicing fluid comprises an aircraft deicing fluid.
