Candle and luminary light show

Abstract

A candle assembly includes a base having a light permissive sidewall extending therefrom that defines an interior space. A light source includes power circuitry that is disposed within the interior space. A light permissive sheath is disposed around the sidewall and the sheath is radially spaced from the sidewall. A top end of the sidewall is adapted to hold a candle refill. A height of at least one of the sidewall and the sheath is adapted to extend to at least a top portion of the candle refill to allow the transmission of light from the light source to obstruct a view of the body of the candle refill.

1 . A candle assembly, comprising: 
 a base having a light permissive sidewall extending therefrom that defines an interior space, wherein a light source comprising power circuitry is disposed within the interior space; and    a light permissive sheath disposed around the sidewall, the sheath radially spaced from the sidewall;    wherein a top end of the sidewall is adapted to hold a candle refill, and wherein a height of at least one of the sidewall and the sheath is adapted to extend to at least a top portion of the candle refill to allow the transmission of light from the light source to obstruct a view of the body of the candle refill.    
   
   
       2 . The candle assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the light source comprises a tri-color LED.  
   
   
       3 . The candle assembly of  claim 1  further comprising a second light source, the second light source comprising a flame from the candle refill.  
   
   
       4 . The candle assembly of  claim 1 , wherein a wall adapted to support the candle refill extends across a portion of the sidewall over the interior space.  
   
   
       5 . The candle assembly of  claim 4 , wherein a retention wall extends upwardly from the top end of the sidewall.  
   
   
       6 . A candle assembly, comprising: 
 a light assembly and a control unit operable therewith; and    a light pipe comprising a bottom end, a top end, and a light transmissive sidewall adapted to support a candle and defining an interior space,    wherein the bottom end is disposed adjacent at least one light source of the light assembly to allow transmission of light therethrough from the at least one light source.    
   
   
       7 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the sidewall extends upwardly from a base portion and at least a portion of the control unit is disposed in the interior space.  
   
   
       8 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the light assembly comprises a plurality of light sources disposed adjacent the bottom end of the sidewall.  
   
   
       9 . The candle assembly of  claim 6  further comprising a second light source, the second light source comprising a flame from the candle.  
   
   
       10 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the light transmissive sidewall shields the control unit from view from an exterior position.  
   
   
       11 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the candle comprises a container having a fuel material and a wick disposed therein.  
   
   
       12 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the candle comprises a pillar candle refill.  
   
   
       13 . The candle assembly of  claim 6 , wherein a wall extends across a portion of the sidewall over the interior space.  
   
   
       14 . The candle assembly of  claim 13 , wherein a curved transition extends between the sidewall and the wall, the curved transition having an inner radius larger than twice a thickness of an adjacent portion of the sidewall, and wherein the curved transition has an outer radius at least as large as the sum of the inner radius plus a thickness of the adjacent portion of the sidewall.  
   
   
       15 . The candle assembly of  claim 13 , wherein the candle comprises a pillar candle refill having a cavity disposed therein, and wherein the wall and at least a portion of the sidewall are inserted within the cavity.  
   
   
       16 . A candle assembly, comprising: 
 a light pipe including a light conductive sidewall surrounding an interior space and extending between a first end surface and a second end surface, wherein a portion of the sidewall is adapted to support a candle refill;    a light source positioned adjacent the first end surface; and    a light conductive sheath disposed around the light pipe, the sheath radially spaced from the light pipe and adapted to allow the transmission of light from the light source to obstruct a view of a body of the candle refill.    
   
   
       17 . The candle assembly of  claim 16 , wherein the candle refill comprises a container having a fuel material and a wick disposed therein.  
   
   
       18 . The candle assembly of  claim 16 , wherein the candle refill comprises a pillar candle.  
   
   
       19 . The candle assembly of  claim 16 , wherein a wall extends across the portion of the sidewall over the interior space, and wherein a retention wall extends upwardly from the portion of the sidewall.  
   
   
       20 . The candle assembly of  claim 16 , wherein a plurality of light conductive columns having different lengths extend from the retention wall.
