Abstract

A candle assembly includes a support base with a melting plate upon which a meltable solid fuel rests and a wick holder to hold a wick and engage the meltable solid fuel. The candle assembly further includes a control unit having at least one electrical component to control a light emitting system.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A candle assembly, comprising:
a support base comprising an upwardly projecting capillary lobe, wherein the capillary lobe is disposed within a recessed base portion of a wick holder, and wherein a capillary space is defined between the capillary lobe and the recessed base portion to allow capillary flow of melted fuel to a wick from the support base; a light emitting system; and a control unit to control the light emitting system.

2 . The candle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the capillary space is defined between a downwardly extending skirt of the recessed base portion and a wall of the capillary lobe.

3 . The candle assembly of claim 1 further comprising a diffuser.

4 . The candle assembly of claim 3 , wherein the diffuser comprises a surface geometric feature that enables securement of the diffuser to the support base.

5 . The candle assembly of claim 3 , wherein the support base is secured to the control unit by the diffuser.

6 . The candle assembly of claim 3 , wherein the diffuser is positioned to interact with the light emitting system to at least one of diffuse, disperse, or scatter light emitted from the light emitting system.

7 . The candle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the light emitting system comprises a multi-color LED.

8 . The candle assembly of claim 7 , wherein the light emitting system comprises a tri-color LED.

       9 . A candle assembly, comprising:
a support base comprising an upwardly projecting capillary lobe, wherein the capillary lobe is disposed within a recessed base portion of a wick holder, and wherein a capillary space is defined between the capillary lobe and the recessed base portion to allow capillary flow of melted fuel to a wick from the support base; a light emitting device; and a control unit to control the light emitting device, the control unit comprising a power source, a battery reversal protection device, a digital processing unit, and a control mechanism.

10 . The candle assembly of claim 9 , wherein the power source comprises at least one of a battery or an electrical cord.

11 . The candle assembly of claim 9 , wherein the battery reversal protection device protects the control unit from damage if the battery is inserted into a battery holder in reverse orientation.

12 . The candle assembly of claim 9 , wherein the digital processing unit comprises at least one of a PWM generator, a lamp driver, a pattern storage capacity, or a program storage capacity.

13 . The candle assembly of claim 9 , wherein the control unit produces a light show.

14 . The candle assembly of claim 13 , wherein the control mechanism allows a user to initiate, select, end, or pause the light show.

15 . The candle assembly of claim 13 , wherein the light show comprises an emission of a first color for a first period of time and an emission of a second color for a second period of time.

16 . The candle assembly of claim 9 , wherein the light emitting device comprises a tri-color LED.

       17 . A candle assembly, comprising:
a support base comprising an upwardly projecting capillary lobe, wherein the capillary lobe is disposed within a recessed base portion of a wick holder, and wherein a capillary space is defined between the capillary lobe and the recessed base portion to allow capillary flow of melted fuel to a wick from the support base; a diffuser comprising a surface geometric feature that enables securement of the diffuser to the support base; and a control unit comprising a battery, a battery reversal protection device, a digital processing unit, a control mechanism, and a tri-color LED, wherein activation of the control mechanism at least one of initiates, selects, ends, or pauses a light show encoded by the digital processing unit and emitted from the tri-color LED.

18 . The candle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the diffuser is secured to the control unit by a flange.

19 . The candle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the support base is secured to the diffuser by an adhesive.

20 . The candle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the light show comprises an emission of a first color for a first period of time and an emission of a second color for a second period of time.

21 . The candle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the digital processing unit encodes a plurality of different light shows.

22 . The candle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the light show comprises at least one of a repeated cycle or a random pattern.
