Abstract

An embodiment of the invention, to provide a recording method and a storage medium for BCA data with high reliability for a storage medium and a method for reproducing BCA data from the storage medium, and an information recording apparatus and an information reproducing apparatus. In a conventional optical disk, low reliability data is recorded in a data area of BCA. Thus, the thickness of a film material for use in a recording layer oriented to BCA data or close to the inner periphery of the storage medium in the vicinity thereof is formed in uniform thickness by using a substrate of the storage medium, the substrate being formed by being suctioned by means of adsorbing mechanisms formed in an arc shape so as to integrated two of the adsorbing mechanisms to be adjacent to each other.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A write-once type information storage medium comprising:
a substrate formed in a disk shape; a recording layer which is formed on the substrate in a concentric manner, and in which information (data) is recorded; and a BCA area which is formed on the substrate in a concentric manner, and in which control data is recorded, wherein an innermost peripheral diameter value of the recording layer is greater than an innermost peripheral diameter value of the BCA area.

2 . A write-once type information storage medium according to claim 1 , wherein the recording layer includes an organic dye to be applied after molding the substrate.

3 . A write-once type information storage medium having a system lead-in area and a data lead-in area whose track pitches and minimum pit pitches are different from each other, comprising:
a relationship of φSYLDIin≧φm+δ between an innermost peripheral diameter value φm of a recording layer in which information is recorded and an innermost peripheral diameter value φSYLDIin of the system lead-in area, wherein δ is 200 μm or more.

4 . A write-once type information storage medium according to claim 3 , wherein the recording layer includes an organic dye to be applied after molding a substrate.

5 . An information storage medium manufacturing apparatus comprising:
a die for use in molding a substrate; a separating mechanism which separates the substrate hardened in the die from the die due to adsorption; and an adsorbing mechanism formed in an arc shape such that two air suction guides adjacent to each other are integrated from among two or more air suction guides, the adsorbing mechanism enabling adsorption by the separating mechanism.

6 . An information storage medium comprising:
a substrate formed in a disk shape; a recording layer which is formed on the substrate in a concentric manner, and in which information (data) is recorded; and a BCA area which is formed on the substrate in a concentric manner, and in which control data is recorded, wherein the BCA area has a BCA data area recorded on a substrate formed by an adsorbing mechanism, two of which are adjacent to each other and are formed in an arc shape.

         7 . An information recording/reproducing apparatus comprising:
an optical head which irradiates a recording medium with a light beam of a predetermined wavelength, and traces the light beam reflected on the recording medium; a signal processor device which receives the light beam reflected on the recording medium and outputs a predetermined output signal corresponding to the light beam; and an optical head feed mechanism which moves the optical head in a radial direction of the recording medium on the basis of the output signal.
