Abstract

The shot blast machine having a projector with an impeller includes the impeller which is made of a high abrasion-resistant rubber. Therefore, it can increase the durability without damage of the impeller and projectile; it can use the projectile with high grindability, with small particle and light gravity; and it can be used at any condition including extreme cold, normal temperature, wet condition and the like.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 4 . (canceled)

       5 . A blasting machine comprising:
a case body; a support surface within the case that supports a workpiece; an impeller assembly comprising an impeller wheel cover, a nozzle, and an impeller directing slurry towards the support surface; at least one showerhead showering said support surface with recirculated liquid; a vibrating screen receiving debris and liquid runoff and from the workpiece and separating projectile from the debris, the vibrating screen passing therethrough the liquid runoff; a projectile receiving tank for receiving and storing the separated projectile; a liquid storing tank for receiving and storing the liquid runoff; a slurry mixing tank for receiving and mixing projectile and liquid respectively from the projectile receiving tank and the liquid storing tank and for forming the slurry; a slurry pump for pumping and recirculating the slurry from the slurry mixing tank to the nozzle; and a liquid pump for pumping and recirculating said liquid from said liquid receiving tank to said showerhead; first connecting means connecting the liquid storage tank to the liquid pump and the liquid pump to the at least one showerhead; second connecting means connecting the slurry mixing tank to the slurry pump and the slurry pump to the nozzle, said second connecting means being separate from said first connecting means.

       6 . A blasting machine comprising:
a case body; a support surface within the case that supports a workpiece; an impeller assembly comprising an impeller wheel cover, a nozzle that directs a slurry of liquid and projectile away from said support surface and towards said wheel cover, and an impeller directing the slurry towards the support surface; at least one showerhead showering said support surface with recirculated liquid; a vibrating screen receiving debris and liquid runoff and from the workpiece and separating the projectile from the debris, the vibrating screen passing therethrough the liquid runoff; a slurry mixing tank for receiving and mixing projectile and a portion of the liquid runoff and for forming the slurry; and means for transporting and recirculating the slurry from the slurry mixing tank to the nozzle including first connecting means connecting the slurry mixing tank to the nozzle; and a liquid pump for pumping and recirculating another portion of said liquid runoff to said showerhead; second connecting means connecting the liquid pump to the at least one showerhead; and said second connecting means being separate from said first connecting means.

7 . The blasting machine of claim 6 wherein said means for transporting the slurry comprises a slurry pump.

8 . The blasting machine of claim 7 further comprising:
a liquid receiving tank for receiving and storing said another portion of said liquid runoff; said pump pumping and recirculating said liquid from said liquid receiving tank to said showerhead.

9 . The blasting machine of claim 8 further comprising:
a projectile receiving tank for receiving and storing the separated projectile; and said slurry mixing tank for receiving and mixing projectile and liquid respectively from the projectile receiving tank and the liquid storing tank and for forming the slurry.

10 . The blasting machine of claim 7 comprising a plurality of impeller assemblies directing the slurry towards the support surface.

11 . The blasting machine of claim 7 wherein said support surface is a stationary support surface.

12 . The blasting machine of claim 7 wherein the support surface comprises:
a guide roller adapted for receiving the workpiece therein; a plurality of rolling conveyors disposed about said guide roller and connected to said guide roller so that rolling of said conveyors rolls said guide roller; and means for rolling said rolling conveyors.

13 . The blasting machine of claim 7 wherein the recirculated liquid consists of an aqueous solution.

14 . The blasting machine of claim 7 wherein the impeller and wheel cover are lined with or formed from abrasion-resistant rubber.

15 . The blasting machine of claim 6 wherein said means for transporting the slurry comprises a suction hose.

16 . The blasting machine of claim 12 wherein said means for rolling said rolling conveyors comprises a motor.
