Abstract
An adjustable tamper-resistant overhead mounting system for a projector. The system includes brackets attachable to the projector and a suspension member attached to an overhead structure. At least one tamper resistant fastener is used at each connection of the brackets, the projector and the suspension member, to deter theft and tampering. The arrangement of the brackets enables easy adjustable positioning of the projector about pitch, roll and yaw axes.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A tamper resistant visual projection system for mounting from an overhead structure, the system comprising:
a projection device; and a mounting system including:
(a) a device interface bracket operably coupled with the projection device;

(c) a suspension member operably coupled with the suspension member interface portion so as to define a third rotation axis generally transverse to the first and second rotation axes, the suspension member adapted to attach to the overhead structure, wherein when the suspension member is attached to the overhead structure, the projection device is selectively rotatably shiftable about the first, second, and third rotation axes; and
(d) a plurality of tamper resistant fasteners, the device interface bracket and the projection device secured together with at least one of the plurality of tamper resistant fasteners, the device interface bracket and the suspension member interface portion secured together with at least one of the plurality of tamper resistant fasteners, and the first and second brackets of the suspension member interface portion secured together with at least one of the plurality of tamper resistant fasteners, each of the plurality of tamper resistant fasteners having coding for receiving a correspondingly coded tool for installing and removing the fastener, whereby the coding inhibits engagement and removal of the fastener with any tool other than the correspondingly coded tool.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first rotation axis comprises a roll axis for the projection device, wherein the second rotation axis comprises a pitch axis for the projection device, and wherein the third rotation axis comprises a yaw axis for the projection device.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the device interface bracket includes a pair of spaced apart flanges, and wherein the suspension member interface portion is disposed between the pair of spaced apart parallel flanges along the second rotation axis.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein each of the spaced apart flanges of the device interface bracket defines a pair of arcuate guide structures and an aperture, wherein the arcuate guide structures are disposed on opposite sides of the aperture, and wherein the second rotation axis extends through the aperture in each of the spaced apart flanges of the device interface bracket.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the suspension member is a pipe having a threaded portion, and wherein the suspension member interface portion receives the threaded portion of the pipe.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first bracket of the suspension member interface portion has a pair of spaced apart flanges, and wherein the second bracket of the suspension member interface portion has a pair of spaced apart flanges, each of the spaced apart flanges of the first bracket confronting a separate one of the spaced apart flanges of the second bracket.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the suspension member includes means for receiving one of the plurality of tamper resistant fasteners to secure the suspension member to the overhead structure.
8 . A tamper resistant mounting system for adjustably attaching a visual projection device to a suspension member fixedly attached to an overhead structure, the system comprising:
a device interface bracket adapted to be attachable to the projection device with a first tamper resistant fastener; and a suspension member interface portion operably coupled to said device interface bracket, said suspension member interface portion adapted to be attachable to the suspension member with a second tamper resistant fastener, said device interface bracket and said suspension member interface portion being secured together with a third tamper resistant fastener, each of the first, second, and third tamper resistant fasteners having coding for receiving a correspondingly coded tool for installing and removing the fastener, whereby the coding inhibits engagement and removal of the fastener with any tool other than the correspondingly coded tool.
9 . The mounting system of claim 8 , wherein said device interface bracket includes a planar portion with a pair of spaced apart parallel flanges projecting upwardly from said planar portion, wherein said suspension member interface portion is rotatably mounted between said flanges so that said device interface bracket is rotatable relative to said suspension member interface portion, and wherein at least one of the flanges is attached to said suspension member interface portion with the third tamper resistant fastener.
10 . The mounting system of claim 9 , further comprising at least one suspension member fixedly attachable to said overhead structure, wherein said suspension member is operably coupled to said suspension member interface portion.
11 . The mounting system of claim 10 , wherein said suspension member is a pipe having a threaded portion, wherein said suspension member interface portion has a threaded portion adapted to threadedly receive the threaded portion of said pipe, and wherein said second tamper resistant fastener is a set screw threaded through said suspension member interface portion and contacting the threaded portion of said pipe so as to impede unthreading of said pipe from said suspension member interface portion.
12 . The mounting system of claim 9 , wherein the device interface bracket includes an adapter plate adapted to be attached to the visual projection device with the first tamper resistant fastener, and wherein the adapter plate is attached to the planar portion with a fourth tamper resistant fastener, the fourth tamper resistant fastener having coding for receiving a correspondingly coded tool for installing and removing the fastener, whereby the coding inhibits engagement and removal of the fastener with any tool other than the correspondingly coded tool.
13 . A tamper resistant visual projection system for mounting from an overhead structure, the system comprising:
a projection device; and a mounting system including:
(a) a device interface bracket operably coupled with the projection device;
(b) a suspension member interface portion including a first bracket and a second bracket, the first and second brackets operably coupled so as to define a first rotation axis, the suspension member interface operably coupled to the device interface bracket so as to define a second rotation axis generally transverse to the first rotation axis;
