Storage medium, recording apparatus, playback apparatus, recording method, and computer-readable storage medium

Abstract

A method of recording data of one or more still pictures and still picture group management information for managing said one or more still pictures as a still picture group onto a storage medium, wherein said still picture group management information includes a first recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded first and a last recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded last, and when new still picture data is recorded in said storage medium, said first recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by a recording time of the new still picture data.

1 . A method of recording data of one or more still pictures and still picture group management information for managing said one or more still pictures as a still picture group onto a storage medium, wherein 
 said still picture group management information includes a first recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded first and a last recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded last, and    when new still picture data is recorded in said storage medium, said first recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by a recording time of the new still picture data.    
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 said recording time of said new still picture data is compared with said fist recording time, and    if said recording time is earlier than said first recording time, said first recording times in said still picture group management information is replaced by said recording time of said new still picture data.    
     
     
         3 . A recording apparatus for recording data of one or more still pictures and still picture group management information for managing said one or more still pictures as a still picture group onto a storage medium, wherein 
 said still picture group management information includes a first recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded first and a last recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded last, and    when new still picture data is recorded in said storage medium, said first recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by a recording time of the new still picture data.    
     
     
         4 . The recording apparatus according to  claim 3 , wherein 
 said recording time of said new still picture data is compared with said fist recording time, and    if said recording time is earlier than said first recording time, said first recording times in said still picture group management information is replaced by said recording time of said new still picture data.    
     
     
         5 . A method of recording data of one or more still pictures and still picture group management information for managing said one or more still pictures as a still picture group onto a storage medium, wherein 
 said still picture group management information includes a first recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded first and a last recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded last, and    when new still picture data is recorded in said storage medium, said last recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by a recording time of the new still picture data.    
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 5 , wherein 
 said recording time of said new still picture data is compared with said last recording time, and    if said recording time is later than said last recording time, said last recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by said recording time of said new still picture data.    
     
     
         7 . A recording apparatus for recording data of one or more still pictures and still picture group management information for managing said one or more still pictures as a still picture group onto a storage medium, wherein 
 said still picture group management information includes a first recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded first and a last recording time at which the still picture data in said still picture group was recorded last, and    when new still picture data is recorded in said storage medium, said last recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by a recording time of the new still picture data.    
     
     
         8 . The recording apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein 
 said recording time of said new still picture data is compared with said last recording time, and    if said recording time is later than said last recording time, said last recording time in said still picture group management information is replaced by said recording time of said new still picture data.
