Abstract

A method and apparatus for reproducing digital contents are discussed. According to an embodiment, the method includes a method of reproducing digital content, including determining whether a sample data is present based on an indication information, the indication information indicating a presence of the sample data; reading a position information specifying a location of a sample data if the sample data is present as a result of the determination, the sample data being a portion of the digital content and reproducible without reproducing the entire digital content; and reproducing the sample data based on the read position information, prior to reproducing the entire digital content.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of reproducing digital content, comprising:
 (a) determining whether a sample data is present based on an indication information, the indication information indicating a presence of the sample data; (b) reading a position information specifying a location of a sample data if the sample data is present as a result of the determination, the sample data being a portion of the digital content and reproducible without reproducing the entire digital content; and (c) reproducing the sample data based on the read position information, prior to reproducing the entire digital content.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the position information includes a start position of the sample data.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the position information further includes an end position of the sample data.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the position information further includes a duration of the sample data.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sample data is a representative portion of digital content.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the sample data is designated by a user.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the digital content comprises a plurality of data sections and the sample data is present at the plurality of data sections respectively.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein reproducing the sample data reproduces each sample data.

9 . A method of reproducing digital content, comprising:
 (a) determining whether a position information indicating a location of a sample data is specified based on an indication information, the indication information specifying a presence of the position information, and the sample data being a portion of the digital content and reproducible without reproducing the entire digital content; and (b) reproducing the sample data based on the position information if the position information is specified as a result of the determination, prior to reproducing the entire digital content.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the position information includes a start position of the sample data.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the position information further includes an end position of the sample data.

12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the position information further includes a duration of the sample data.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the sample data is a representative portion of digital content.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the sample data is designated by a user.

15 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the digital content comprises a plurality of data sections and the sample data is present at the plurality of data sections respectively.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein reproducing the sample data reproduces each sample data.

17 . An apparatus for reproducing digital content, comprising:
a memory storing a digital content, the digital content including a sample data, the sample data being reproducible without reproducing the entire digital content; and a controller determining whether a position information is specified based on an indication information, the position information indicating a location of the sample data and the indication information specifying a presence of the position information, and controlling a playback of the sample data based on the position information if the position information is specified according to the determination, prior to reproducing the entire digital content.

18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the digital content comprises a plurality of portions, which includes each sample data, wherein the controller controls the playback of each sample data based on each position information.
