Abstract

A multi-use bathing implement for use in cleansing and exfoliating skin and as a toy, a holder of soap or like products, and a decoration. The bathing implement includes a toroidal sponge component and can also have a removable attachment component. The donut-shaped sponge component is preferably made of mesh sponge material and is concentrically disposed about an inner ring-shaped component defining a central opening in which the attachment component can be removably secured. The inner ring-shaped component provides a ready gripping area which can be held for manipulating the bathing implement. The attachment component can be, for instance, a toy, a solid soap product, a container of a bath/cosmetic product or the like, a mesh netting pocket, or a knob-shaped hanging device having a suction cup. In addition, the implement can have a drawstring for converting the toroid shape sponge into a ball shaped sponge.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A multi-use washing implement, comprising:
an inner loop component having an outer peripheral surface and defining a central opening; and an outer component concentrically disposed about said inner loop component and attached to said inner loop component so that said outer component extends radially outward from said inner loop component and provides the washing implement with a substantially toroid shape; said inner loop component having an elastic property and including an inner elastic ring-shaped band covered by an outer layer of water friendly material.

2 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , wherein said outer component is a sponge component.

3 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , wherein said outer component is made of elastomeric fibers.

4 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , wherein said outer layer of said inner loop component is selected from the group consisting of taffeta and terry cloth and wherein said outer layer is provided with a plurality of ventilation apertures.

5 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , wherein said outer component is a mesh netting material.

6 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , further comprising a removable attachment component secured to the washing implement within said central opening defined by said inner loop component.

7 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 6 , wherein said attachment component has a medial portion of a size which, when positioned within said central opening defined by said inner loop component, is engaged and held in a snug manner to the washing implement.

8 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 6 , wherein said attachment component is selected from the group consisting of a toy, a novelty item, a container, a brush, a doll, a cosmetic product, a package of candy, a solid piece of soap, a candle and a pocket made of netting.

9 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 1 , further comprising a drawstring mechanism extending within said inner loop component utilized to convert the toroid-shaped washing implement into a substantially ball-shape.

10 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 9 , further comprising a locking mechanism for securing the drawstring mechanism in a condition which prevents uncoiling of the implement from said ball-shape to said toroid shape.

       11 . A multi-use washing implement, comprising:
an inner loop component having an outer peripheral surface and defining a central opening; an outer component concentrically disposed about said inner loop component and attached to said inner loop component so that said outer component extends radially outward from said inner loop component and provides the washing implement with a substantially toroid shape; and a drawstring mechanism extending within said inner loop component utilized to convert the toroid-shaped washing implement into a substantially ball-shape.

12 . A multi-use washing implement according to claim 11 , further comprising a locking mechanism for securing the drawstring mechanism in a condition which prevents uncoiling of the implement from said ball-shape to said toroid shape.

       13 . A multi-use bathing implement, comprising:
an elastic inner ring-shaped component having an outer peripheral surface and defining a substantially circular central opening, said inner ring-shaped component being formed by an inner elastic band covered by an outer layer of a water friendly material attached thereto; and a sponge component for use in applying lather to cleanse a bather being concentrically disposed about said inner ring-shaped component and attached to said outer peripheral surface of said inner ring-shaped component so that said sponge component extends radially outward from said inner ring-shaped component and provides the bathing implement with a substantially toroid shape.

14 . A multi-use bathing implement according to claim 13 , further comprising a removable attachment component secured to the bathing implement within said central opening defined by said inner ring-shaped component.

15 . A multi-use bathing implement according to claim 14 , wherein said attachment component is selected from the group consisting of a toy, a novelty item, a container, a brush, a doll, a cosmetic product, a package of candy, a solid piece of soap, a candle and a pocket made of netting.

16 . A multi-use bathing implement according to claim 13 , further comprising a draw-string mechanism extending from the bathing implement and within said inner ring-shaped component for use in converting the toroidal bathing implement into a substantially ball-shape bathing implement.
