Printing apparatus, job processing method, printing system, storage medium, and program

Abstract

A job processing method in a printing system having a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, wherein a print stop request of a print job which is to be printed by the printing apparatus is enabled by a user via a user interface section; and if a print job which is an object of a print stop is a print job which requires printing for a plurality of copies, the print stop processing of the print job is enabled by the printing apparatus in the print stop processing method based on a request from a user inputted via said user interface section in a plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods which can be executed in the printing apparatus.

1 . A job processing method in a printing system having a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, comprising the steps of: 
 accepting a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section; and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, performing the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section.    
   
   
       2 . A job processing method in a printing system having a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, comprising the steps of: 
 accepting a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section;    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, performing the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section; and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies, performing said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods without requiring said print stop processing method being selected by said user interface section.    
   
   
       3 . A job processing method in a printing system comprising a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, and a post-processing section which can execute sheet processing on a printing paper from said printing apparatus, comprising the steps of: 
 accepting a print stop request of print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section;    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, performing the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section.    
   
   
       4 . A job processing method in a printing system comprising a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, and a post-processing section which can execute sheet processing on a printing paper from said printing apparatus, comprising the steps of: 
 accepting a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section;    if said print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, performing the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on print stop request inputted via said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section; and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies, performing said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus wit one of the print stop processing methods without requiring the print stop processing method to be selected by said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section.    
   
   
       5 . The job processing method according to  claim 3 , wherein 
 said sheet processing is at least any of sheet processing which can be executed by said post-processing section comprised of said printing system including at least any of stapling, punching, bookbinding, folding, gluing and cutting.    
   
   
       6 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 said plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods comprises at least any one of:    a first method of stopping printing of said job at a moment when a page being printed by said printing apparatus is printed by said printing apparatus when said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section;    a second method of stopping printing of said print job after said printing apparatus executing printing of a copy to which the page being printed by said printing apparatus is attribute when said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section; and    a third method of stopping printing of said print job at a moment when printing for the specified number of copies inputted via said user interface section is executed by said printing apparatus.    
   
   
       7 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus can accept at least any one of said print jobs of said print job from a document reading section and said print job from a peripheral device, and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section comprised of said printing apparatus which can accept said print stop request.    
   
   
       8 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus can accept at least any one of said print jobs of said print job from a document reading section and said print job from a peripheral device, and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method based on said print stop request inputted via the user interface section comprised of said peripheral device which can accept said print stop request.    
   
   
       9 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , 
 wherein said printing apparatus comprises an operation section which can indicate printing processing and a display section associated with said operation section;    wherein said job processing method displays a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing methods on said display section according to said print stop request from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies and controls a plurality of kinds of said stop processing methods to be selected for said printer section displayed on said display section.

The job processing method according to  claim 9 , wherein, when an instruction of said print stop request is received from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies, said job processing method controls said printing apparatus by changing the previously specified number of copies with an input from said operation section.

The job processing method according to  claim 9 , wherein, when an instruction of said print stop request is received from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies, said job processing method displays a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing method which can be selected on said display section and controls a printing operation in said printing apparatus to pause at timing between copies.  
   
   
       12 . The job processing method according to  claim 9 , wherein said a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing includes stop processing between copies and immediate stop processing.  
   
   
       13 . The job processing method according to  claim 9 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus comprises a post-processing section, and    controls the stop processing not only for a printer section comprised of said printing apparatus but also for said post-processing section.    
   
   
       14 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies and if said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section, said job processing method presents plural selection candidates corresponding to said a plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods which can be executed at said printing apparatus via said user interface section, and    said job processing method enables said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method corresponding to the candidate selected from said presented plural selection candidates.    
   
   
       15 . The job processing method according to  claim 1 , wherein 
 if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies and if said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in a print stop processing method in said plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods without presenting plural selection candidates corresponding to said a plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods which can be executed in said printing apparatus on said user interface section.    
   
   
       16 . A printing system having a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, comprising: 
 an accepting unit adapted to accept a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section; and    a performing unit adapted to perform, if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section.    
   
   
       17 . A printing system having a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, comprising: 
 an accepting unit adapted to accept a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section;    a first performing unit adapted to perform, if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section; and    a second performing unit adapted to perform, if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods without requiring said print stop processing method being selected by said user interface section.    
   
   
       18 . A printing system comprising a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, and a post-processing section which can execute sheet processing on a printing paper from said printing apparatus, comprising: 
 an accepting unit adapted to accept a print stop request of print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section;    a performing unit adapted to perform, if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section.    
   
   
       19 . A printing system comprising a printing apparatus which can accept a plurality of kinds of print jobs, and a post-processing section which can execute sheet processing on a printing paper from said printing apparatus, comprising: 
 an accepting unit adapted to accept a print stop request of said print job by said printing apparatus via a user interface section,    a first performing unit adapted to perform, if said print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, the print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus with one of print stop processing methods based on print stop request inputted via said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section; and    a second performing unit adapted to perform, if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus wit one of the print stop processing methods without requiring the print stop processing method to be selected by said user interface section regardless of whether said print job is a print job which requires sheet processing by said post-processing section or the print job is a print job which does not need said sheet processing by said post-processing section.    
   
   
       20 . The printing system according to  claim 18 , wherein 
 said sheet processing is at least any of sheet processing which can be executed by said post-processing section comprised of said printing system including at least any of stapling, punching, bookbinding, folding, gluing and cutting.    
   
   
       21 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , wherein 
 said plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods comprises at least any one of:    a first method of stopping printing of said job at a moment when a page being printed by said printing apparatus is printed by said printing apparatus when said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section;    a second method of stopping printing of said print job after said printing apparatus executing printing of a copy to which the page being printed by said printing apparatus is attribute when said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section; and    a third method of stopping printing of said print job at a moment when printing for the specified number of copies inputted via said user interface section is executed by said printing apparatus.    
   
   
       22 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus can accept at least any one of said print jobs of said print job from a document reading section and said print job from a peripheral device, and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method based on said print stop request inputted via said user interface section comprised of said printing apparatus which can accept said print stop request.    
   
   
       23 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus can accept at least any one of said print jobs of said print job from a document reading section and said print job from a peripheral device, and    if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method based on said print stop request inputted via the user interface section comprised of said peripheral device which can accept said print stop request.    
   
   
       24 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , 
 wherein said printing apparatus comprises an operation section which can indicate printing processing and a display section associated with said operation section;    wherein said printing system displays a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing methods on said display section according to said print stop request from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies and controls a plurality of kinds of said stop processing methods to be selected for said printer section displayed on said display section.    
   
   
       25 . The printing system according to  claim 14 , wherein, when an instruction of said print stop request is received from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies, said printing system controls said printing apparatus by changing the previously specified number of copies with an input from said operation section.  
   
   
       26 . The printing system according to  claim 14 , wherein, when an instruction of said print stop request is received from said operation section during printing processing for plural copies, said printing system displays a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing method which can be selected on said display section and controls a printing operation in said printing apparatus to pause at timing between copies.  
   
   
       27 . The printing system according to  claim 14 , wherein said a plurality of kinds of said print stop processing includes stop processing between copies and immediate stop processing.  
   
   
       28 . The printing system according to  claim 14 , wherein 
 said printing apparatus comprises a post-processing section, and    controls the stop processing not only for a printer section comprised of said printing apparatus but also for said post-processing section.    
   
   
       29 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , wherein 
 if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job for executing printing for plural copies and if said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section, said printing system presents plural selection candidates corresponding to said a plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods which can be executed at said printing apparatus via said user interface section, and    said printing system enables said print stop processing of said print job by said printing apparatus in said print stop processing method corresponding to the candidate selected from said presented plural selection candidates.    
   
   
       30 . The printing system according to  claim 16 , wherein 
 if the print job for which said print stop request is issued is a print job which does not need to print plural copies and if said print stop request is inputted via said user interface section, said print stop processing of said print job is enabled by said printing apparatus in a print stop processing method in said plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods without presenting plural selection candidates corresponding to said a plurality of kinds of print stop processing methods which can be executed in said printing apparatus on said user interface section.    
   
   
       31 . A computer program stored in a storage medium for causing a computer to execute the job processing method according to  claim 1.
