Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions and methods of treating and diagnosing disorders characterized the by the presence of antigens associated with inflammatory diseases and/or cancer, and nucleotide sequences, including expressed sequence tags (ESTs), oligonucleotide probes, polypeptides, vectors and host cells expressing such antigens PRO301, PRO362 or PRO245.

A method for inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, comprising administering to a patient in need an effective amount of a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein said polypeptide is capable of inhibiting VEGF-stimulated proliferation of endothelial cells.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide comprises amino acids 28 to 235 of the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide comprises amino acids 28 to 299 of the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein said polypeptide is capable of inhibiting VEGF-stimulated proliferation of endothelial cells, and instructions for administering said composition to inhibit tumor angiogenesis.
5 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 4 wherein said polypeptide comprises amino acids 28 to 235 of the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1.
