Mattress

Abstract

A mattress provided with an upper layer ( 12 ) having a plurality of filled cushions ( 16 ). The filled cushions ( 16 ) are positioned next to one another and one after the other in a grid-like arrangement to form a planar upper surface ( 12 ). The cushions ( 16 ) can be provided with any kind of filling. By virtue of the upper layer ( 12 ) being formed by cushions ( 16 ) that are adjacent to each other on all sides, and the suitable choice of filling for the cushions ( 16 ), it is possible to produce individual cushioning characteristics of the upper layer ( 12 ), with the filling ( 18 ) of the cushions ( 16 ) also allowing for special secondary effects of the mattress.

1 . A mattress for a bed, lounger or a chair, with a lower layer ( 11 ) on which an upper layer ( 12 ) is arranged, characterized in that the upper layer ( 12 ) is formed by a plurality of filled cushions ( 16 ) arranged in a grid-like pattern.  
   
   
       2 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that in each case a plurality of cushions ( 16 ) are arranged next to one another as well as one after another.  
   
   
       3 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that at least one part of the surface area of the upper layer ( 12 ) is formed by filled cushions ( 16 ).  
   
   
       4 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the entire surface area of the upper layer ( 12 ) is formed by the filled cushions ( 16 ).  
   
   
       5 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that all filled cushions ( 16 ) have a cuboid-shaped configuration.  
   
   
       6 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that all filled cushions ( 16 ) have a base area ( 17 ) of the same size.  
   
   
       7 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that all cushions ( 16 ) are of the same size.  
   
   
       8 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that all cushions ( 16 ) have a square base area of the same size.  
   
   
       9 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that at least some cushions ( 16 ) have a filling ( 18 ) made of an organic material.

       11 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that at least some cushions ( 16 ) have a filling ( 18 ) made of a fluid material.  
   
   
       12 . The mattress according to  claim 11 , characterized in that the filling ( 18 ) made of a fluid material is arranged in a fluid-tight wrapping.  
   
   
       13 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that at least some cushions ( 16 ) have an active filling.  
   
   
       14 . The mattress according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the filling ( 18 ) is enclosed by a cover ( 19 ).
