Abstract
A media storage container includes a base that supports a media disc retaining hub configured to hold a media disc such as a CD or DVD. A lid is connected to the base and movable between open and closed positions. The container is configured to hold a second item of recorded media that interacts with the retaining hub when the lid is closed. In one configuration, an add-on page carries the second item of recorded media. The page defines an opening and a portion of the disc retaining hub extends into the opening when the page is disposed over the base.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A media storage container comprising:
a container body having open and closed configurations; the container body having a disc retaining hub; a page connected to the body; the page being encased by the container body when the container body is in the closed configuration; the page being adapted to retain a media cartridge; the page being positioned over the disc retaining hub when the container body is closed; the page defining an opening; and a portion of the media disc retaining hub extending into the opening of the page when the page is disposed over the disc retaining hub and the container body is closed.
2 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the disc retaining hub is a push button hub.
3 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the page is releasably snap-fit to the container body.
4 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising a media cartridge retained by the page; the cartridge having an outer container with a rotatable media disc disposed in the outer container; the disc retaining hub of the container body engaging the rotatable media disc of the cartridge when the page is disposed over the retaining hub and the container body is in the closed configuration.
5 . The container of claim 4 , further comprising a disc disposed on the disc retaining hub.
6 . A media storage container comprising:
a container body having open and closed configurations; the container body having a thickness of 15 mm or less; the container body having a disc retaining hub; a page pivotably connected to the container body; the page being disposed within the container body when the container body is in the closed configuration; a media disc being disposed on the disc retaining hub; a media cartridge carried by the page; and a portion of the disc retaining hub overlapping a portion of the page when the container body is in the closed configuration.
7 . The container of claim 6 , wherein the media disc retaining hub is a push button hub.
8 . The container of claim 6 , wherein the page is snap-fit to the body of the container.
9 . A media storage container comprising:
a base having a disc retaining hub; a hinge wall; a lid; the base being connected to the hinge wall with a first hinge; the lid being connected to the hinge wall with a second hinge; the base, hinge wall, and lid movable with respect to each other between open and closed configurations; a page pivotably connected to one of the base, hinge wall, and lid; the page having a holder adapted to retain a media cartridge; the page defining an opening; the opening being aligned with the disc retaining hub when the base, hinge wall, and lid are in the closed configuration; a portion of the disc retaining hub extending into the opening when of the page the page is disposed over the base.
10 . The container of claim 9 , wherein a media cartridge is carried by the page; the cartridge having an outer container with a rotatable disc disposed in the outer container; the media disc retaining hub of the base engaging the rotatable disc of the cartridge when the page is disposed over the base of the container.
11 . The container of claim 10 , further comprising a media disc disposed on the disc retaining hub.
12 . The container of claim 1 1 , wherein the thickness of the container is defined by the height of the hinge wall; the height of the hinge wall being 15 mm or less.
13 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the disc retaining hub is a push button hub.
14 . A media storage container comprising:
a base having a disc retaining hub; a hinge wall; a lid; the base being connected to the hinge wall with a first living hinge; the lid being connected to the hinge wall with a second living hinge; the base, hinge wall, and lid movable with respect to each other between open and closed configurations; a page pivotably connected to the hinge wall with a releasable snap fit; the page having a holder retaining a media cartridge; the media cartridge having an outer container with a rotatable disc disposed in the outer container; the page defining an opening; the opening being aligned with the disc retaining hub when the base, hinge wall, and lid are in the closed configuration; a portion of the disc retaining hub extending through the opening when of the page the page is disposed over the base; and the media disc retaining hub of the base engaging the rotatable disc of the cartridge when the page is disposed over the base of the container.
15 . The container of claim 14 , wherein the disc retaining hub is a push button hub.
16 . The container of claim 15 , further comprising a media disc disposed on the disc retaining hub.
17 . The container of claim 14 , wherein the thickness of the container is defined by the height of the hinge wall; the height of the hinge wall being 15 mm or less.
18 . The container of claim 14 , wherein the base includes a nest at least partially surrounding the disc retaining hub; the page having a flat bottom; the flat bottom of the page engaging a portion of the nest when the base, hinge wall, and lid are in the closed configuration.
19 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the body includes a nest at least partially surrounding the disc retaining hub; the page having a flat bottom; the flat bottom of the page engaging a portion of the nest when the container body is in the closed configuration.Cited by (0)
