Card and selection device games

Abstract

A method of playing a game is disclosed. The game may include a plurality of cards and a selection device, the selection device configured to be activated by a user to select a supplemental action from a plurality of supplemental actions. The method may include viewing a first card having a first indicium in a discard pile; activating the selection device to select a supplemental action from the plurality of supplemental actions, the plurality of supplemental actions including a supplemental action that allows discarding at least one card having a second indicium; performing the supplemental action selected by the selection device; selecting a second card having a third indicium that corresponds with the first indicium of the first card; and discarding the second card in the discard pile.

1 . A method of playing a game, the game including a plurality of cards and a selection device, the selection device configured to be activated by a user to select a supplemental action from a plurality of supplemental actions, comprising: 
 viewing a first card having a first indicium in a discard pile;    activating the selection device to select a supplemental action from the plurality of supplemental actions, the plurality of supplemental actions including a supplemental action that allows discarding at least one card having a second indicium;    performing the supplemental action selected by the selection device;    selecting a second card having a third indicium that corresponds with the first indicium of the first card; and    discarding the second card in the discard pile.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein at least some of the plurality of cards include selection device indicium that requires activation of the selection device, and at least one of activating the selection device and performing the supplemental action selected by the selection device occurs when the first card includes selection device indicium.  
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein activating the selection device and performing the supplemental action selected by the selection device occurs when the first card includes selection device indicium.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of supplemental actions includes a supplemental action requiring at least a first player to exchange at least one card, other than the first card, with at least a second player.  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the at least one card includes one or more cards associated with the at least a first player.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of supplemental actions includes a supplemental action requiring at least a first player to show at least one card, other than the first card, to at least a second player.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the at least one card includes one or more cards associated with the at least a first player.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of supplemental actions includes a supplemental action requiring drawing at least one card from a draw pile.  
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the supplemental action requiring drawing at least one card requires drawing cards successively until a card with a particular indicium is drawn.  
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of supplemental actions includes a supplemental action requiring each player of at least some of the players to select a card with a value indicium of highest value from one or more cards having value indicium associated with that player, and showing the selected card to the others of the at least some of the players.  
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the supplemental action requiring at least some of the players to select a card with an indicium of highest value includes discarding the selected card if the value indicium of that card has a value higher than the value indicium of other selected cards.  
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the supplemental action requiring at least some of the players to select a card with an indicium of highest value includes initially comparing the selected card with cards selected by other players, and discarding one of the compared cards in response to the comparison.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein discarding one of the compared cards in response to the comparison includes discarding the card with a value indicium of highest value of the compared cards.  
   
   
       14 . A method of playing a game, the game including a plurality of cards and a spinner assembly configured to select a supplemental action from a plurality of supplemental actions, the spinner assembly including a pointer and a base having a plurality of sections, at least some of the sections including indicia representative of at least one supplemental action, comprising: 
 viewing a first card having a first indicium;    spinning at least one of the pointer and the base relative to the other of the base and the pointer to select a supplemental action, the plurality of supplemental actions including a supplemental action that requires at least a first player to exchange at least one card, other than the first card, for another card of at least a second player;    determining the at least one supplemental action based on the position of the pointer after the at least one of the pointer and the base stops spinning;    performing the at least one supplemental action;    selecting a second card having a second indicium that corresponds with the first indicium of the viewed first card; and    discarding the second card.    
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 14 , where the spinner assembly includes at least one holder configured to support a discard pile of one or more cards, wherein viewing a first card having a first indicium includes viewing a first card having a first indicium from the discard pile.  
   
   
       16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein discarding the second card includes placing the second card on the discard pile adjacent the first card.  
   
   
       17 . A method of playing a game, the game including a plurality of cards and a spinner assembly configured to select a supplemental action from a plurality of supplemental actions, the spinner assembly including a pointer, at least one holder configured to support a discard pile of one or more cards of the plurality, and a base having a plurality of sections, at least some of the sections includes at least one supplemental action, comprising: 
 viewing a first card having a first indicium from the discard pile;    spinning the base relative to the pointer to select a supplemental action, the plurality of supplemental actions including a supplemental action that requires at least a first player to show at least one card, other than the first card, to at least a second player;    viewing at least one supplemental action on a section that the pointer is directed to after the base stops spinning;    performing the at least one supplemental action;    selecting a second card having a second indicium that corresponds with the first indicium of the viewed first card; and    placing the second card on the discard pile adjacent the first card.
