Fragrance sample insert

Abstract

A fragrance sample is provided which is made from two plies (a bottom ply and a top ply) of material. A cosmetic (such as a wet fragrance) sample is deposited on the bottom ply. A well is formed in at least one of the plies and is sized and shaped to surround the sample. The two plies are then adhered together to form a liquid tight seal between the two plies and around the well.

14 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing, said sampler including a cosmetic sample, such as foundation, blush, rouge, and the like, for application to the face, said sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface a lower surface, and an integral well embossed in said bottom ply to receive said cosmetic sample; and,    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a wall formed integrally in said top ply, said top ply wall having a shape at least as large as said well and adhering to the bottom ply to form a seal to substantially prevent leakage of the sample.    
   
   
       15 . The sampler of  claim 14  wherein the well is formed as a depression in said bottom ply and, said top ply wall adheres to said upper surface of said bottom ply.  
   
   
       16 . The sampler of  claim 14  wherein said bottom ply includes an integral wall extending upwardly from said bottom ply upper surface; said bottom ply wall defines said well along at least one side, said bottom ply wall and said top ply wall aligning when said top ply and said bottom ply are closed together, said top ply wall and said bottom ply wall collapsing into a corrugated form.  
   
   
       17 . The sampler of  claim 16  wherein said top ply wall and said bottom ply wall define first walls; 
 said sampler includes an integral second wall on said top ply and an integral second wall on said bottom ply, said second walls surrounding said first walls and aligning with each other.    
   
   
       18 . The sampler of  claim 17  wherein said first and second walls of said top and bottom ply are collapsed after said walls are closed together.  
   
   
       19 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing, said sampler including a cosmetic sample, such as foundation, blush, rouge, and the like, for application to the face, said sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a well formed in said bottom ply below the plane of said upper surface to receive a cosmetic sample;    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface; and    a wall formed integrally in said top ply, abutting said upper surface of said bottom ply to form a seal to substantially prevent leakage of the sample, and having dimensions at least as large as said well.    
   
   
       20 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing, said sampler including a cosmetic sample for application to the face, such as foundation, blush, rouge, and the like, said sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface and a lower surface, and an integral wall extending upwardly from said bottom ply upper surface; said bottom ply wall defining a well, to receive a cosmetic sample;    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface, and an integral wall extending downwardly from said top ply bottom surface; and, said wall of said top ply aligning with said wall of said bottom ply and an end surface of said bottom ply wall engages an end surface of said top ply wall to form a seal between said top ply and said bottom ply plies.    
   
   
       21 . The sampler of  claim 20  wherein said top and bottom ply walls are double walls.  
   
   
       22 . The sampler of  claim 20  wherein said top ply wall and said bottom ply walls define first walls; 
 said sampler includes an integral second wall on said top ply and an integral second wall on said bottom ply;    said second walls surrounding said first walls and, aligning with each other.    
   
   
       23 . The sampler of  claim 22  wherein said first and second walls of said top and bottom ply are collapsed after said walls are adhered together.
