Fishing System With Alarm
Abstract
A fishing system capable of use with a tip up includes a transparent housing fixedly mounted to the flag rod of a standard tip up. A plurality of LEDs is mounted to the surface of the fishing system. A lantern light is disposed inside the transparent housing. A wiring harness is operably coupled to the lantern light and LEDs and is in communication with a battery box that houses a battery and electronics for powering and operating the LEDs and lantern lights, and an audible alarm. The system is configured to illuminate upon the triggering of the tip up by a fish strike of the fishing rod. Alternative embodiments include a fishing hook retainer device fixedly mounted to the surface of the tip up and a transparent storage container for movement and storage of the system. Additionally, a remote control and accompanying sensors may be mounted to the surface of the system to perform a variety of functions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A fishing system comprising:
a) a tip up; and b) a visual indicator, wherein the visual indicator, wherein the visual indicator is in communication with the tip up via a wiring harness such that movement of the tip up will actuate the visual indicator.
2 . The fishing system of claim 1 , wherein the visual indicator comprises,
a) a light housing fixedly connected to a flag rod of the tip up; b) a plurality of LEDs mounted to the light housing; and c) a lantern light disposed in the light housing.
3 . The fishing system of claim 2 further comprising a battery box, wherein the battery box has a cover and houses at least one of a battery and electronics for powering and operating the light.
4 . The fishing system of claim 3 further comprising an audio indicator.
5 . The fishing system of claim 3 further including a sensor operably coupled to the electronics for communication with a remote control.
6 . The fishing system of claim 5 , wherein the remote control includes at least one of a power switch, an on/off at-will switch, a search button, an LED light switch, and a lantern light switch.
7 . The fishing system of claim 2 , wherein the LEDs are configured to flash continuously.
8 . The fishing system of claim 2 further including a fishing hook retainer fixedly mounted to a base of the tip up, wherein the fishing hook retainer comprises a plurality of divider walls forming relatively small slots therebetween; and a storage container.
9 . The fishing system of claim 8 , wherein the divider walls comprise a relatively hard plastic material.
10 . The fishing system of claim 8 , wherein the divider walls comprise brush-like bristles.
11 . The fishing system of claim 8 , further including a flag rod retainer configured to store a flag rod for storage.
12 . The fishing system of claim 8 wherein the fishing hook retainer further includes a hook stop.
13 . A fishing system kit comprising:
a) a tip up; b) a visual indicator, wherein the visual indicator comprises,
i) a light housing;
ii) a light retained in the light housing; and
iii) a plurality of LEDs disposed on the light housing;
c) a storage container; and d) a remote control.
14 . The kit of claim 13 wherein the storage container comprises,
a) a substantially transparent housing; b) an end cap; c) a tether fixedly attached to the end cap and the housing; and d) a plurality of apertures formed in the housing.
15 . The kit of claim 14 wherein the storage container comprises a colored portion, wherein the colored portion comprise a substantially easily visible color so that the storage container may be easily located in snow or during inclement weather.
16 . The kit of claim 13 further comprising a fishing hook retainer, wherein the fishing hook retainer comprises a plurality of divider walls forming relatively small slots therebetween.
17 . A method of fishing comprising the steps of:
a) securing a fishing rod in a tip up; b) placing a tilt switch on the tip up; and c) connecting a visual indicator to the tip up via a wiring harness such that movement of the tip up will actuate the tilt switch and then the visual indicator.
18 . The method of claim 17 further including sensing a signal from a remote control so as to perform at least one of: powering the visual indicator on or off and illuminating the visual indicator.
19 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising the steps of:
a) storing the tip up and visual indicator in a transparent storage container; and b) transporting the tip up and visual indicator to another location.
20 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising the step of:
a) retaining fishing hooks in a fish hook retainer so that the fishing hooks and fishing lines do not become tangled.Cited by (0)
